Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ
Below are a few pictures of Bill Hawk and the Cook Brothers new 2010 428 CJ. The car turned out well, that's kind of an understatement. The attention to detail that the Cook Brothers did on this build was amazing. The pictures do not do the car justice.
After testing today, they were quite pleased with the performance to say the least. As you can imagine, they are looking forward to next season. http://classracer.com/cj1.jpg http://classracer.com/cj2.jpg |

Great job, I bet it is faster than it looks. What class?

Re: Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ
MAYBE cars like this are part of the answer to low spectator interest? Beautiful auto, if it goes half as good as it looks it will be a screamer..

Re: Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ

Re: Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ
Larry, either A or B, unless NHRA decides to make a new class, then who knows.
Kris, the short block was done by Chris Holbrook, the heads were done by Jim Morgan. The trans came from JPT and the convertor is ATI. The chassis was built by Ken Keir and painted by J&J Customs. There were many people involved with lots of man hours, and deserve much credit for the build. Performance is amazing, but we all know what these cars are capable of. |
Re: Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ
Who drove the car this weekend?
|
Re: Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ
Thanks Ken,
Its a very nice looking ride. I can't wait to see it out. |
Re: Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ
Great looking car. Even though I'm a GM guy I think the Mustang is by far the best looking of the new muscle cars.

Re: Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ

Re: Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ
Hey Ken,
Dad and Roger were sooooo excited seeing the car go down the track for the 1st time. They were grinning from ear to ear. LOL. We were all there to witness it. It was a beautiful run and it's a beautiful car. Thanks to everyone who has has worked on it and had a part in the car. Thanks to Holbrook, Ken Keir, J&J Customs, Ford, and a special thanks to Eddie (Dad), Roger, Mitch, David, Eddie Joe, Billy for making this car possible and a dream of my dad and Rogers. This wouldn't be possible with out all of you. Sharon L. Cook McKinney |
Re: Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ
I would say that the bar has been raised.....I'm looking forward to having a look "up close".
Besides, I could use some Cleveland "dna" if Hawk will submit to a swab. |

A nice car for sure but the ET and Speed posted on that run pretty much show how completely ludicrous the HP rating is on one of these beauties.... B/SA ????? Right...... |
Re: Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ
Terry,
I don't need to buy one, I have a small investment in the car already. I might even be driving it at the Stock/Super Stock Association race at Mason-Dixon Dragway in a few weeks. Bill Hawk is one of the owners along with Roger and Eddie Cook. Roger and Eddie are the reason the car was built. Sharon your so right, it took many people to finish the car and I couldn't be happier for Roger and your dad. |

Nice to see one of those CJ's leaving the line like a race car. The C-4 is a bigger thrill than that C-2!

Re: Hawk and Cook Brothers New CJ
Dave, you dont need Billy's DNA on the cleveland.....He's been like a father to me for over the past decade. He has helped me ALOT since i put my car together, between him and I, we made more improvements from his older cleveland stuff. PM me i can tell you more. You may think about switching the nose over to the 73 body, If i had a body it would have been done by now. Again PM me, i'll fill ya in..
