Greg Hill named winner of American Race Cars Free Ride program

Stock racer Greg Hill, of Louisville, Kentucky, has been named the winner of the American Race Cars Free Ride program selected at the IHRA Summit Racing Equipment World Finals presented by RacingJunk.com weekend at Virginia Motorsports Park.

Hill, who had his name drawn from a collection of dozens of drivers from across the U.S. and Canada, will receive a $10,000 gift certificate from American Race Cars toward the purchase of a new car. Hill originally had his name drawn at the Summit Pro-Am event at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park back in June.

The American Race Cars Free Ride program began in 2008 by Mark Horton and Travis Colangelo as a way to give back to the racers. At each Summit Pro-Am event a random driver is selected from the tech cards and those drivers are entered into a larger pool for a chance to win the $10,000 American gift certificate.

The International Hot Rod Association would like to congratulate Greg Hill and thank American Race Cars for their continued support of such a wonderful program rewarding IHRA racers.

Hahaha, he wouldn't let a Jr Dragster even come near the shop! He thinks those things are pure evil. Also, I like not running a tenth off my dial either way, I think I'll stick with the big cars

stock eliminator racer turned super comp racer wins championship. greg credits his success with his "no electronics" driving style. about his win greg had this to say "hell i didnt know what that delay box and throttle stop were so we just footbraked it and drove the finish line"

in a rare move chrysler today announced a one of production vehicle, 220 inch wheelbase slingshot dragster replica in the spirit of thier other novelty vehicles. this car will come equipped with a new drag pack hemi rated at 325 hp. this vehicle will be owned by greg hill and delivered to southland chrysler - dodge in houma louisiana for final assembly. this car will be included in the 2012 nhra stock car classification guide in C/SA.

Congrats Greg. I have an idea what you can do with the gift certificate.DRR is helping put on a charity auction for Fab Shop Headers Tim Murphy's family This would really help out .Just a thought call if interested
