Live from the NHRA Finals
 

OK, first off, if I had to guess I would say 80%+ of the people here at the track have internet access. If you are at the track right now and reading this, why aren't you posting in this thread? If you can't post about other people, why not post about how you are doing, how your run went, track conditions, weather etc...

I also want to thank all the people who have started "Live from" threads and all the people who have contributed to them. I won't try to list everybody because I know I will leave somebody out. They know who they are.

I'm encoding Super Stock Q1 right now and it will be up later today.

Again, if you are at the track and have internet access, why not contribute to this thread???

Good afternoon Toby - you've got a great idea there -- all you need is for the racers / spectators to cooperate ..........and good luck with that .

We here on the other side of the country are patiently waiting for any news that you or anyone onsite can give us .....and are thankful for whatever it is .

BTW , its been a long year for you on the road and the Winter rest is coming after this race ...........and the Christmas bonuses that will soon follow .

Oh , one last thing -- good luck this weekend .

Wow! at John Mihovetz's run, 1.18 under in comp, that's movin.

Skillman's run in stock was fast too, 9.42 at 120, looking at the incrementals, it was going to be low 9.20s at probably 148 or so.

I will join in. Just woke up from afternoon nap as alcohol funny cars are fininshing first qualifying. It has turned total overcast but very high clouds doesnt look like rain yet.

Our cars are about .25 to .30 faster than vegas and most others seem to be the same. Conditions are very fast.

3 tenths quicker as well. And its not mineshaft. My guages said 1300 feet DA when I ran stock this morning and when Charlene ran in Super Stock it was 2200 ft.

I broke the camshaft. Tried all day with many great racers who helped, but it was in vain.
I'll look forward to the spring as I plan to debut a new SS/FM motor.

Thanks to all who came by to offer a hand. Dee and I enjoyed your support and company.

Well, I had some fuel system issues on the second pass and didn't make it to the water box. We've been working on it and finally got it fixed. I hope. I missed Super Stock Q2, but I got some video from the staging lanes for Stock Q2. It will be up later.

A big thanks to Bob Gullett for lending me his spare regulator. Hopefully they'll have one on the midway tomorrow so we can get squared up.

They withdrew their entries before the cutoff, like several others. Perhaps the points chase is less nerve racking away from the track, hopefully they are getting their fancy clothes ready for the banquet!

:):)Good morning Toby. First, let me say THANK YOU for all the videos from the various races this year. It has allowed a guy like me to see people and cars that I know at tracks I have never been to. Good luck to you and Jody this weekend. The weather looks like a possible Monday finish for the sportsman racer. Not the first time for that, if it indeed plays out like that. The weather forecast that I have seen shows 60% chance of rain for tomorrow. Anyway, you and Jody have a great race and a safe trip back up to the beautiful northwest.

:(:(P.S. Sorry Jody didn't win the Stock Championship, must be a big disappointment.

I don't know, but if I had to guess I would say a breather tube fell off or wasn't connected as there was no clean up or oil on the track.

Calvert Bars/Springs in stock location..........9.0 Goodyear radials....Stock
front suspension with Calvert Shocks. Basically totally identical to our stockers.
Car was resurrected by Jon Jr. and Randy Bursell in about ten days after being
parked for twenty years plus. It is owned and driven by Jon Irving my youngest boy
and this is the only third time out on car and the second weekend on the engine which
was of Bill Riddle's spares. Paint is 30 years old..........he could sure use a good deal on Paint.
