Off season projects?
1 Attachment(s)
Now that the season is pretty much over I'm sure you're all getting to work on some interesting projects. Here at Wagons of Steel we have commenced work on our '64 Plymouth Fury. It will eventually be an AA-A-B/SA car when we get it done (two years, unless someone here wins the lottery). We are blessed to be able to work on something new instead of fixing some catastrophe!
What cool projects are my fellow class racers up to this winter? Chris Barnes Wagons of Steel Stock 6621 |

Build models, try to win lottery, work on "all time" entry list of Comp/Modified/SS & Stock racers (I'm into 1975 now) and I forgot, tend to my farms on Farmtown, and Ellies also.

Re: Off season projects?
I am bound and determined to race my old Wagon next year!
But, this is of course subject to change as I have 2 Teenagers in the house who come up with very creative and resourceful ways to spend my money and time......:) |
Re: Off season projects?
It's been seven years since my car was totaled but I'm piecing another oldie together. Seems a lot of people took my 428 and have sullied it's reputation by using Edelbrock heads. Reminds me of the Dire Straits song, "Money for nothing." "That's the way you do it. Can't figure out cast iron so aluminum will do."
I will be back. And I will be using cast iron heads. Some of you may know the car. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...hitePomona.jpg |

I have all my stocker stuff for sale and if it sales i will be done with stock.. Can't keep up with the Jone's as the old saying goes. Can't drive a nail (old saying) It must be me as it is just not as fun as it used to be and that could be the expense of it all. May just fix the ole 4-door back to a street cruiser and hit a footbrake race or two...or something diff. I have at least filled my dream ( and emptied my pockets..lol ) of having a stocker Would not take anything for the past...And will miss you guys and gals in the class racer world ,but will still be a fan and will still be my favorite classes (for now ) |
Re: Off season projects?
If I thought I could sell my stuff I think I would quit too. My driving has been flat embarrassing. Have to force myself to work on it. Guess I'm getting too old. Just turned 68. Anybody want a .7 to .8 under car cheap? lol

I'm 58 and feel just like you just said Ed... If i'm gonna keep up with my two 4 year old grandsons i gotta stop the rat race ,don't never slow down and don't never get anything done ..lol Maybe they will want to race and that will be more fun than me racing |
Re: Off season projects?
I'm going to remove my sponsor's name from the rear fenders as he went out of business after 38 years in the speed equipment business. The economy and internet competition finally killed him.

Re: Off season projects?
Gonna put my old AX car together for my kid to run, minus the 5-speed of course. He's wanting to run some S/S so we'll let him try it out. Plus hated to see the old girl just sit there and collect dust.
