Outten gallery question&southerland item
To mr. Outten: Was viewing your photo gallery of very nice corvettes and noticed a question re the yellow 69 car-it looks like supinskis yellow corvette ss car from div. 1.
Also mr. Southerland in the dime rocket post with billy nees:you mention involvement with the ayers family valiant-would you like a copy of the june,1970 hot rod magazine article about this sharp little 273- 2 bbl n/sa car? |
Re: Outten gallery question&southerland item

Re: Outten gallery question&southerland item
I have a copy of that article but would love another copy. You can contact me at the e mail address Dwight posted. In addition, I would love to find that car. My father sold it to a racer in Ohio back in 1971. Made me so mad I didn't talk to him for a month.

Re: Outten gallery question&southerland item
SAMATCOTOOLSMAN, thanks for the post, but I don't think it's the Suspinski car. I've looked at few pictures of that car and their paint scheme is a little different from what I remember, however they could have had different layouts at times.
When I got the car it had "La Haies Autmotive Research, Lansing" & "K and D Performance" on the front fender and "Shadowoods" on the hard-top sailpanel if that helps anyone recall. I will post the pictures on here of the lettering that was on the car as soon as I can upload them to a server. Thanks, Dave Outten |

This yellow Corvette was owned by Ralph Ronzello of Lansing MI. He bought it from one of the Vassilion bros. , also from Lansing.

Re: Outten gallery question&southerland item
Sure do Bruce! I'll try to post a recent photo ASAP. BTW, while I'm waiting on parts for the stocker engine I threw together a "everything on the garage floor that wasn't broken in half" engine so I could go out to play. Stupid thing went 10.82@120+ at 3625#

Re: Outten gallery question&southerland item
My first far off race at La Place, Mr Ayers, driving Grog, handed me my tail first round. I asked myself "how did that dang thing run that fast?" lol

Re: Outten gallery question&southerland item
Ed, I well remember that race. We always did good at LaPlace. The little Valiant loved that good south Louisiana air. I'm in Tulsa several times a year. Next time I'm over that way, I'll look you up. Lew, Thanks so much for the copy of the HR article. I have several copies of that magazine, but had never scanned them.

Re: Outten gallery question&southerland item
LaPlace, Yes indeed. I went down that track many times, in the back seat of whatever my dad was racing. I think I was about 7 years old. LOL ! ! No Kidding.

Ed -
Were you at the first Cajun Nationals held there? I remember the Jax beer trucks and the crawdads in 55-gallon barrels. |
