This is great news, we will be there! Are they planning on any other Stock/Super Stock Combo races anywhere in the area?

WELL...
If you have 1/2 a brain (Like the guy who asked) then I suppose 1/2 a track would be appropriate.

I know that Brainerd is having S/SS combos at the bracket events this year.
And Thunder Vally in Marion, SD is having 3 events this year as well!

Re: National Open at Top End Dragways

Ron, I have raced 1/4 mile for 41 years, thinkin I may dig out a delay box and a tranny brake and try it. Remember, I had one of the first delay boxes in MN and I loved it. Can't see any reason not to try it. NHRA S/SS is turning into a circus act with not much improvement in sight. I must have an attitude problem, or just plain sick of it! I think i'll go camping

Re: National Open at Top End Dragways

I know what ya mean Joe. May 1970 Minn Dragways C/MP was my 1st yr. Still love it but it seems sometimes I have a problem on how things are run and am always pointed out to be a complainer. I just may take a year off and see what its like to go somewhere without the trailer. Hey, lets plan a camping trip !! I can see it now, two very old racers hit the campgrounds. What a story !!

Re: National Open at Top End Dragways

Ron, Holy cow, you got a deal, I have been camping the last few years, and there is sure a lot to see and do especially when you dont have that trailer following us around!!

Nice site ! Thanks Jerry. Hey Joe, instead of joining NHRA this year we could join Good Sams club. An idea !!

Ron, I'm already a member, and I have 2 rv's to choose from, the motorhome and I inherited a 29' 5th wheel from Schmitty's dad. I have rv options!!!

Re: National Open at Top End Dragways

Great news for Sabin! I attended the track for the first time this summer and it was fun, good people running the track from owner to staging lanes. It's a long haul for me but I will go.

Hey Mr. Demarais, is that car of yours going to fast you wanna race 1/8th mile? Even if you bracket race it's still 1/4 mile... It's only December guys so let's think positive..

As you stated, the way NHRA is and can be, just another good reason to support local combo's and this open at Top End.

Ron, you must be talking about BIR's last race. I'm not sure if the track would have been dangerous running the full 1/4? I doubt it as I have ran in much cooler conditions then that. It was fun and something I haven't done in 8-9 years but prefer running the 1/4 as well.

You guys be safe and I will see you in the spring.

Tim

Re: National Open at Top End Dragways

Tim, when your as old as I am , the extra 4 sec you use up going down the track seems to me a huge waste of time car parts and is much more expensive for the track preparation. Plus you could run the event faster. All you do the last 1/8 mile is look around trying to find your opponent so you can wait till the last moment and slam on the brakes. I personally would like to try 1/8 mile so whether it be December or April I probably will not change my mind on what I would like to do. Who gives a rats a-- on what I think about it anyway!!

Re: National Open at Top End Dragways

Tim, yep thats what I was getting at was the last BIR race. What I didnt care for was being ripped on the PA before the race. They would not have had to do that. You know me, got a little upset over that. As I said done with that crap. Ron
