Linda is and has always been the 1st Lady of Drag Racing.

Now, belive it or not, I did notice the cars.... I've seen the 300 Chrysler before but don't recall ever seeing the Nova (GTO?) in this picture. Anybody got any other photos?

She was at the "Lions Drag Strip" last race reunion two weeks ago at the NHRA museum

She has aged well ....

She said she had a chest cold and one of the speakers made a comment - if you know what I mean

:-) peace

Re: Linda Vaughn

I think I read some wheres that said she had some sort of heart procedure done earlier this year...I guess everything went well if she's up and about now...I still have my autographed photo signed by her from the mid 70's. ;)

dennis dunlap 12-11-2011 08:08 PM

Re: Linda Vaughn

Yes she has aged gracefully .a real southern sweatheart ,,,i beleive she did mention the proceedure , could have been disracted a bit .. had about three or four different pictures she was signing and some nice buttons....

Re: Linda Vaughn

I was fortunate to win a National event and she was a big part of the winners circle pictures....and some are of just me and her.....Great fun. She always had time to stop and talk to anyone in the pits and made you feel like you knew her personally....

She was always as nice as could be and trust me I saw her in her prime with the Hurst cars and the platform and the other Hurst girls.....Hard not to see them back in those days.....they kind of stuck out ......LOL

During my days with ACDelco, I had the opportunity to do the "play by play" (guest announcing) at several races during Pro Stock with Bob Frey and Ms Linda. She is a walking encyclopedia of Pro Stock...

we seen her at the SEMA show this year in vegas. she commented briefly on being well. she was signing posters at the barret -jackson booth. it was great to see her out.

Re: Linda Vaughn

I missed her at SEMA, i didn't think she'd be there. She is a real treasure. She certainly has picked up a lot of knowledge of all motorsports over the years and is probably met and remembers more racers names than any person alive.
Here she is at last years SEMA with Doc Watson and George Barris.

Kevin the picture in the link is Linda dressed in a skit that was put on. She was made up to look like Marilyn Monroe. It was part of the Rat Roast show i believe.

As CharleyBob would say, "times change and it ain't the 50's anymore".

Kevin, don't be too harsh. You're going to be old too one of these days. In her day she was a fox.

Exactly as Greg says....

Linda was and is a great personality for all motorsports. And has been for 40+ years. I was lucky and had her in a winners picture session.

My mother used to say ....."It's no picnic getting old".....She made it to the age of 96!
