Looks like Pittsburgh will once again count as a home div for 1 or 3.
No Mother's Day racing at London KY this year either.

I think all races are doubles except div 9.

The doubles are good. You tow once and race2 divisionals in 2 days.unlike NHRA races where you make 6 tt in between Outback visits over 4 days to have 1 race on Sunday.

I agree with you (partly).... doubles are way better!
BUT>>>
NHRA had a hard time completing one race/per weekend last year.
(Could be unlucky weather, and/or larger car counts, etc)

Tom,
I would say TOO many TT's. How many do you need. I saw some where they got 4 or more. I went to Atlanta in 2010 and got 6 LOL.
Yes car counts are higher but they could do it with No leakers and 2 TT's

What i meant was everybody has doubles but div 9 bend over because we have to travel twice as much to go to the same amount of races, nothing about NHRA.

I don't believe Grand Bend is a double, but is a TOC qualifier.

Grand Bend is a single TOC qualifier according to the IHRA article.

Is the Pittsburg race going to be an 1/4 or an 1/8 mile event? In years past the IHRA divisional races have been contested on 1/8 mile. There isn't a lot of shut down for really fast cars.

The first few years were run on a 1/4 mile. It seemed ok for everyone but T/S.

Since this race will be run in conjunction with the nitro jam, why couldn't you run T/S and T/D to the 1000'? It seems like it would be a good compromise for the fans that will be there to see these guys run their cars hard, and still be able to stop.

Last years nitro jam was a success with the decision to run 1000' instead of 1/8. Although I am not a fan of it in NHRA, it was the right thing to do here.
