No, it's not good "work".
It could be called a good "position", but "work"??? ;)

And that my friends is why you do not get a purse increase.......but you do get enhancements along the ride down NHRA lane...........
If i was in charge and made that much profit even with the HI DOLLAR paychecks i would give all 1st round losers their entry fee back

But its non profit?

Cohen and Clapp joined the Board on December 9, 2010. They are listed as working 1 hour a week. It is probably too early to tell if they are receiving compensation.

Are there numbers available for IHRA?

Or don't they get paid?

Just wonder how philanthropic they are

:-) peace

IHRA is a for profit corporation.

Ron I would imagine that IHRA doesn't have to make their salaries public since they are not a "nonprofit" organization like NHRA is, but I would be very surprised if they were even close to those.

Re: It's Good Work if you can find it.

If this is a legitimate, accurate list (and, I assume it is,) I have a couple of questions:

1. Was this before the "ten-percent pay cut" that supposedly happened, and

2. Why did they stop at the point that they did, and not also enumerate the salaries of the Division Directors, and people in technical positions, like for instance, Danny Gracia??????

It's all coming out of the same "not-for-profit" pot, is it not?

What I'd like to know is how much Rick Stewart was payed?

What; with his over acting, fllaying arms, finger pointing, screaming an hollering,
not to mention the "always professional" finger across the throat (for the you can't run now symbol).
After seeing PART of the financial statement.....
I can believe WE!! had enough money left to cover the wage demand of such an epic
clown!

Bill, They only have to report the income of the highest earner from each department. The above info is just base salary info plus some sort of retirement contribution by nhra. These numbers do not include some very nice first class perks.

Cohen is a partner in Morrison & Foerster LLP, a major national and international law firm.

You wonder if the conversation might have gone like this.

I heard NHRA may have a little IRS problem. If you put me on the board of directors I'll work for peanuts if you hire my law firm.

Thanks, Bruce. Being a non-profit, I would think that their entire financal picture would be open to scrutiny, but that's probably not true.

Drag Racing Online publishes the NHRA's tax return every year - here's a link to their 2009 return http://www.dragracingonline.com/anal...returns-1.html

Mr. Cohen is a most excellent Tax Controversy lawyer. His clients usually have very serious tax issues and need a heavy weight to protect them. nhra staff probably approched him and at a later date it was decided by all parties to put him on the Board. It seems unlikely that he was put on the Board because nhra wanted some adult supervision.

Bruce, what happened to their first fiasco?Did they buy their way out or is it still pending?

Re: It's Good Work if you can find it.

Ed, I have not heard anything new. I guess nhra will issue some sort of statement if and when there is news.
