Fuel Injectors

Guys and Gals,
I am about to purchase a set of injectors for my LT1 stocker motor. I think I know what lb. to get but I had a question if one brand is prefered over the other (ie. Bosch, Accel, Holley, etc..). Is there anything I should consider prior to purchase. Thanks for any help.

Bosch. ACCEL injectors are made by Bosch now. Avoid cheap crap like Venom, etc. 30 lb is plenty big enough. I would use 24 lb at 60 psi if it were me.

Re: Fuel Injectors

I bought Accel 24 lb injectors when I put my LT-1 together. I ran it at 55 lbs. fuel pressure.

The present owner has bigger injectors in it. I really don't think they are needed.....30lb'er's sound about right from the info I was able to gather from my data logger....

I had no probelm with the Accel's and had an Accel Gen VII ecu and data logger....and they are still in the car now....

As dumb as it sounds, the ford motorsports ones are good, and if you thumb through a mustang magazine, you can usually find them pretty cheap.

It isn't dumb. They are the ones we prefer and run.

Ford Racing (Ford Motorsports) has injectors available in 24-30-32-34-39-47-60-80 lb versions. They are USCAR connectors other than the 30 lb which are Jetronic/Minitmer. They also sell adapter kits to convert the connectors. All that I have looked at are either Bosch or Seimans.

The Ford Motorsports injectors are Bosch. Just another place to buy them.

The Ford 24, 30, and 42 lb injectors are Jetronic/Minitimer.

Ford Racing has discontinued the 24 and 42 Jetronic/Minitimer injectors. They only have the 30 lb sets now they are part number M-9593-BB302. The other seven sets they sell are USCAR.

Ed,
The tech guy at Ford Racing stated that they sell whatever they get from the Ford supply chain. In other words what is currently being installed on the assembly line is what they get. They use Bosch, Siemans and Ford built injectors. If they are Bosch they will have the name on them but if Siemans or Ford they only have part identifer numbers on them.

They may have, but I haven't heard that they are no longer being made. You can still get plenty of them from several sources online.

They discontinued the M-9593-AA302 in the last six months. I still have one set of them left myself.

I've started using FAST injectors this past year. Easy to find and many flow rates. Have 36lb FAST in it right now, running at 60 psi.

Sorry. Last Ford SVO injectors I bought were still the fat black ones with blue, red, green, etc, top. Those were marked Bosch, and we're excellent injectors. Very consistent and reliable. I can't speak for these others. I've had no problems with Lucus injectors.
