Winter nationals drop outs

Is there anyone out there that might be pulling out of the Winter Nationals? I am going to be down there and would love to enter. If so, please send me a PM. Thanks.

Or, you could just be L-A-Z-Y, like ~I~ am and do the easy thing, and use your name as your B.B. "I-D".

So simple... I never could figure out the appeal of the "name game."

What am I missing???

Not to high jack the thread, but when I removed my real name from all the message boards, it just about eliminated the amout of spam I received.

There's a difference between listing your name and e:mail address....the e:mail address is what the spammers are after. I've provided answers within my span of knowledge (limited perhaps but it's always 'free') and links to various excel files and such to be helpful. Even tipped over the line by providing some runs data courtesy of Nitro Joe's stats (but always giving him a plug). Lately; however, it's become obvious that some racers are gaining 'alias' identities to stir the pot or otherwise abuse others or the forum in general. That is BS and to post on the forum with a suspect user name leaves the person open to suspicion. Seems to me if somebody wants to genuinely come on the board and ask for help they can at least provide a name and competition number. My 2 cents....

Well said Jim,
Maybe the forum should make it manditory to use a real name and or number.

All I wanted to do is see if anyone is pulling out of Pomona. I didn't mean to start a war of words.

Re: Winter nationals drop outs

Nobody was messing with you Neil, you quickly edited your post with name and number. The thread was hijacked by those of us sick of no-names with ulterior motives, sorry. Good luck, probably fair chance that 2 or 3 will drop out so just keep an eye on the entry list. When I was hoping to get into Reading 2 years back I was checking at least 3 times a day and snagged an entry.

And yes, we all know who "the worm" is.....

There is only one "Worm." I remember him posting under a different handle though.

People usually start withdrawing the weekend before the race. With Stock entries only at 71 the chances are very good that it will drop below 70 before the cutoff date. Just be ready to enter when it does.

Break or brake?

Is this the little brown pinto that's been around Div6 for awhile?
Hope you get in and kick some butt down there.

Not the same Pinto,,Phil. Rick's "little brown" car isn't a wagon like Neil's is.

No it is not the brown one. I bought a 1976 wagon from Roger Olsen out of Min.
This will be my first year in stock.

Neil, Good luck with the Pinto. We were the one's with the brown 74. We have retired it and have built a different car. Hopefully you will be coming to some of the divisional's. Stop by and chat.

There is a section for members who use their real name and competition number. If no namers are such a problem for you, why don't you contain your activity to that section?

Lets face it, the reason this board continues to flourish is the fact that it's free and it's anonymous. Stirring the pot and controvercy only help the board recieve more daily hits and more views. All to the delight of the paying sponsors.

This board contains allot of great information. But even from it's humble beginning, when Willy Raymond's stories of NASA type electronics drew the first followers to Classracer, the board has always been open to using an alias. I would bet it will continue that way.

You don't need to look to far to see what charging a membership fee and real names do to a similar BB.

I have a feeling that the 1976 Pinto S/W in question spent a little time in D3, including a semi-final finish at STL in the late 1990's. Either that, or it is a new car that I havent seen yet. Either way, welcome to the wonderful world of Slow Cars in Stock Eliminator!

Thanks, Yes this is the wagon that belonged to Marty. I am looking forward to this year and I can't wait to be chased by the CJ's. Should be fun. I am going to try a A1 7" converter. Looking to pick up some ET. Talk to you later.
