Does anyone no the number of 81 to 88 Olds G body stockers still racing?
Is there a list of all stock class cars racing in NHRA?

My Q/SA '81 Olds Delta 88 305 "Oldsmiac" was retired after its first and last eliminator win in 1984.

running one of the factory cutlass did belong to pete kost (he had two) and i have owned both...i think about 6 stockers are running

You could figure that out using Nitro Joes year end stats.It willl list every
one that raced last year at an NHRA and IHRA race.

They are getting rare ! I have one, an 84. Dont see many though. I know of 5 right off hand, that I have seen.

Tim Bettinghouse has one of al's old cars I think

Bill Kissinger has one I think

Jon Bibb has had one for 25 plus years

Greg Fulk has the old Ken Shawver car

I don't know who has Don Holben's old car

I just sold the Jim Gilbert,Greg Robinson car to Tom Wilson of MI this past summer

I have a 85 Cutlass that use to be Ron Garey's old car. Still has the Olds motor in it.

The question was with regard to STOCKERS, not SS, so the list won't be very long.

I have always wondered about the factory supplied racecar bodies. I realize they cannot be licensed for the street, but do the bodies have some kind of serial number? What do you do about proof of ownership and what kind of paperwork is involved if the car is sold to another racer?

The factory cars do have a serial number of sorts. Our one car still has the identification number on it. As far as paper work. The cars were sold on a bill of sale. We still have the documentation for one of our cars that shows the original bill of sale along with some other additional paper work.

K/sa 307cube Div 5 recently purchased from Bill Prince. Long time racer Skip Lisell now making some upgrades and plans to have his wife Valerie drive because she can cut a lite! Car has been .80 under.

We have one. I sold it to Bob Dennis and got it back . I ran it in M/SA then put it in P/SA. Now its in O/SA. It's like part of the family.

Fred, I was waiting for you to join this. Seems to me your car has been around since inception. What do you know about the car Sammy Pizzolato raced in the '80s? I got to see the famous "windowed" 307 block for the first time in his car at Baton Rouge. I had no idea a manufacturer would do that. Of course, it was in pieces at the time.

About 10-12 years ago I purchased one of Pete Kost Cutlass Stocker from Jackie Hibbard and kept it for about 2 years and then at a IHRA race in Mooresville I was asked by Tim Griffith if I wanted to sell the Cutlass, So Tim was the new owner,He then sold it to Dean Ribero and then Dean sold it to Jason Silver. I talked to Jason in 2010 and he was still the owner.

Sammy's car became Karl Geist's car and eventually one of my friends bought it and brought it to California. It repeated its prior performance with the center main webbing shortly after it arrived. That was a spectacular explosion! Happily, it appears that those issues have been resolved. It has been very durable since we addressed the "window" mains and took advantage of some rules changes relative to stabilizing the valve train.

Didn't surprise me about Sammy. He's the only person I have ever seen lay a SBC crankshaft on the ground from a stocker. He did it at Baton Rouge also in the 327-250hp '68 Chevelle wagon that the Doughty brothers have. Set the record on that run, IIRC.

Curt Reese, Pierre, SD has one. Running 9 inch rear tire & stock suspension in GT/MA with a 283

Tracy Battest, Aberdeen, SD has one. Running P/SA I believe.

Glen DeMenge, in northern MN had one of the fastest M/SA but sold it. Where did it go?

Ed Drucker, CA, has one running J/SA

Bob Elliott, AZ ran one last year in K/SA

The car that Bill Prince had was originally mine. We never had any issues with the windowed blocks and we ran it pretty hard: shifted at 6500 and ran through the lights at 7000.

Curt Rees' car was a fun street car. When we had it. It had an aluminum headed Olds 455. It would run high 11's in street trim.

dwight the car that i sold to karl was not the car i won the world championship with.we put the drive train out of the green car in that one.i still have part ownership in the origional car with and old friend i grew up with. it sits at his house still has the same paint on it.and the 307 blocks were JUNK!!! as you witnesed.the car i sold bo bo was a six cyl car i bought with a junk motor in it.

No, standard cast crank.

We're still using the same lightweight cast crank that we started running in 2000. It has well over a thousand runs in our Superstocker. It probably helps the crank a bunch to have it in a sleeved 350 or DX block as ours is. Keeping your fingers crossed must help too, as those cranks certainly don't look as though they'd take that kind of abuse.
