Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
So we get 2 points races in one weekend here at Phoenix.
Entry fee: $165 for each race, no problem. Crew fee: $60 for each race, PROBLEM! $120 for a crew member at a 2 two day race is absolutely ridiculous! If NHRA is going to do more of these, they better get the crew fees in line. |
Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
Big surprise, we are not getting our 3rd qual run.

Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
Do you have to wonder why there aren't any people in the stands? $30 is too much for a spectator. I was there today hanging out with the Stock guys from Colorado. That's it for me this weekend. Half that would be acceptable.

Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
I agree...It was $ 20 not long ago, too.

Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
84 cars in Stock seems like an excellent turnout.Almost like a Division 3 race!

Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
This is the race I wait for all year. I alwaysed loved that I got two weekends in a row of drag racing. I stopped going to the National race years ago because the prices were getting over the top. I was only going for the sportsman racing anyways. I have not cared about the pros in about 20 years. Now the Sportsman race is getting up there. So the days of the two weekend for me are gone. But I did not realize that it was $30.00 now. WOW!!! PLUS the parking. I bet it is $10. I better get more money from the bank tomorrow.
I have always made it a point to go to the Sportsman race on Friday because it was the cheaper day and I like the low crowds. But now they are making it not only that much but the same amount no matter what day. Good thing I have a job that gives me paid day offs. So I can keep on going on Fridays. This will be the first time that i am getting paid to be out there. So it offsets the higher cost for me. At least I am not loosing a day of work like I use to. I cannot see me stopping from going to this race no matter how high the price is. But I sure think it is a bad move to do that. Not to many people will pay that to go to a sportsman race like I will. I wait all year for this event. Cannot wait till tomorrow. |

The one sad thing. I use to take my daughter with me and stopped a few years ago. Because, she got older and the racing bug never really bit her. But this morning she asked me if she could go. "Like old times", she said. Now I know that apart of it was that I think she wanted to get out of school today and play hooky with old dad. But I would have done it in a heart beat. The only thing that stopped me. The prices at the gate. Now that SUCKS! Thanks NHRA!!!! Well I am OFF. Be there in a half hour. |

If it makes you feel any better, there is a World of Wheels Car Show in the Chicago area next week. http://autorama.com/shows/attend/chicago-2012# Parking is outrageous, and they want $18 general admission to look at some cars. $30 for a day of Sportsman racing is a steal compared to $18 for a few hours of looking at some cars in a show. Enjoy your day at the races and at least you don't have to shovel snow! |
Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
Sounds like I would be buying my pit help spectator passes instead. Why the hell can a spectator get in for $30 while a crew member has to pay $60? That is ridiculous ....
|
Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
Phillip, it is 30.00 per day per person, two day race for a crew guy 60.00!! No difference just a crew guy will be there for two days? This kicker is it is two, two day races so that's 4 days at 30.00 or 120.00 a guy for a crew member. Kinda steep.

Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
Hi
So let's say you had a 1 crew and your self how much total $ to race at the "2 race"event? Now How much $$ can you win IF you were to win both races??? |
Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
Buy the spectator pass, stay in motorhome
|
Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
$30.00 clams for a divisional is a complete joke and a major rip off.

Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
Nothing like taking advantage of a captive audience and your fans! The food wasn't cheap either, chicken tenders no fries was $6.50. With fries was $10.50. Beer was $8 or $9 depending on what you got. They're pricing me out of coming to watch again thats for sure.:(

Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
Well will it make any of you happy that I pulled one over on the old NHRA today?
Believe me this was not intentional. I kind of "Forst Gumped" my way into this. But I ended up not only parking for free. I also got in for free. Do not know how it happened. But it just did. I really enjoyed myself. The day was beautiful and the racing was great. So me and the other 7 people in the stands had one hell of a show today. Thanks to all of you guys that were racing today at Firebird. :D:D |
Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
I'll bet your daughter is happy for you! Not only did you get a paid day off work, the parking and racing was free.

Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
It's $58 for a one-day ticket at the nearest ski resort.
I went to the movie 2 weeks ago, cost me $10.50 for a small popcorn & water. Fun isn't cheap. ;-) |

Re: Phoenix 2 Race Weekend Fees!
Same wristbands for all four days...................they can not tell if you bought
another crew pass or not for second race. Don't ask me why I know this is true. |
