Great American Race predictions?
 

Would anyone like to make a prediction for the Daytona 500?

Mine is; Marcos Ambrose will bring Richard Petty back to victory lane at Daytona.

I predict there will be so many wrecks with this new aero package, that fewer than 20 cars will finish on the lead lap.

I think it will be one of the generic looking cars that will win.I can't tell the difference anymore.My favorite driver is Danica Patrick,easy on the eyes win or loose lol

I'll have to agree if 20 cars finish on the lead lap they'll be lucky. I think the winner is gonna be somebody that hangs around the back all day while the front runners crash and burn. Then at the end they'll make a run to the front.

The Great American Race is held at Indy and sanctioned by the NHRA, everything else is just the Great Left Turn Race!

I predict that Mother Nature will win Sunday's race here in Daytona.
If it's run Monday or later, then it could be anybody, as pointed out earlier, due to the aero mods and tight groups of cars.

Ken Squire coined the phrase...."Great American Race"....and he was referring to Daytona......Never has been anything but that to me and I've been a NASCAR fan forever.....Well Motorsports in general really...

NHRA's Indy race is not even close to what it once was and has not been for a zillion years....and it was just called...."The Nationals".....I would never think of anything but Daytona when I hear that term....Great American Race...


Watching Nationwide race right now........Danica is toast.....

Toyota builds a lot of cars in this country-you can understand why they are trying to establish an identity in the US. Of course GM and Ford build cars all over the world and none of us consider them foreign brands. Eventually some of those better cars even make it to the US such as the Focus.

We're at a big RV place in St Augustine right now and it's pouring...sad to see all the folks packing their coolers to head to Daytona...they are in for a LONG day. I'm waiting for tomorrows race...and it's between Smoke and Edwards; again.

Watching the Daytona 500 is miles ahead of anything the NHRA puts on TV. Unless its Sportsman racing :)

I'm a few miles ENE of the track and it's been sprinkling for about 15 minutes.

There is actually not too much behind this batch coming through central FL according the the Weather Channel radar. If no more forms or at least stays light for a short time, they might get it it. But they still say at least 45% by 3pm & later. I wouldn't mind being wrong with my earlier prediction.

Very wet......Bummer.....Was really looking forward to the start of the race.

Very traditional for me to watch this race as the start of racing season in general.....even though it is usually not for a good month or so around here.

I have been there and for those who have not.....Watching a car come off turn 4 and whiz by you is unreal.....You can hear and feel the wind as the car cuts through it......


OK if I have to make a pick.....It's Jr.....He needs a win bad.....
Danica might surpass him as the most popular driver !!!
I have to say she is cool and doing a super job and is good for Nascar....

The guy that can avoid getting wrecked or in wrecks---whose engine is still running at the end and the guy that has a little LUCK too thats who is gonna win!!!! ---as for Danica I personally think she is a little overrated but she is an attractive clean cut young lady has experience driving different types of cars comes across well on TV and corporate America loves her!!!! Eat your heart out Courtney/Ashley!!!!!!

The Force sisters wish they had the "pub" Danica gets and deserves. She is over rated as a driver but holy shyt she is now the face of NASCAR.

Daytona 500 just got postponed till tomorrow at noon. Big patch of rain coming and will probably hit in an hour or so.
