Jerry Hefler in Hospice Care
 

MARCH 7, 2012 : Division 4 STOCK racer Jerry Hefler was admitted into Hospice Care today on the 3rd floor in Building C at Baylor All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Jerry was previously diagnosed with "Little Cell Lung Cancer" and it had spread into his bones. His doctors informed him approximately 2 months ago that he had as little as 2 weeks to 2 months to live. The doctors are doing what they can to keep Jerry comfortable in his final days with his family by his side. The family ask that you keep Jerry in your thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear this. Mr Jerry is such a character, and he always has a joke to share and a laugh to go with it. My prayers are with the Hefler family.

Sad deal. It was really cool that friends got Jerry to Indy last year. Very nice man, and a fine racer. Met him many years ago when he was racing with Robert Hutchinson. Always enjoyed Jerry. We are thinking about you buddy!

Just sitting here remembering all the good times my family and i spent with Jerry and his boys. Weather you talked to him for twenty minutes or two hours, you would soon discover how proud this dad was of his sons Jeff, Jeremy two very accomplished racers. When infact Jerry is the racer we all hope to be. I'm proud to call u my friend and knowing you made me a better person. We will never forget the all the times when you made us laugh, after you so humbly just gave someone a driving lesson. I'll have a cold one in your honor tonight in the garage.
