Thief in the pits.

Rumor has it 4 wallets have been stolen out of sportsman pits this morning, while making the first 2 qualifying runs. Don't be a victim, have your neighbors keep a look out or lock up your rigs. I think the sheriffs might of caught someone between the Goodyear & Toyota trailer.

Oh no, did the perp just happen to "fall down" between the trailers then get up and "bump" his head on the side of the trailer?
Too bad he didn't trip over a fuel jug and set his pants on fire.....yet!

Thieves....lowest of the human scum chain.

Chris De said on Facebook that the crook is in the hospital and facing multiple felony charges-it's not good to mess with someone from Joisey.

i talked to my brother a while ago he said they caught the clown by his pit area, said there was some serious whoopass performed, figured the thief was really happy to see the cops, maybe the scum bag will think twice next time, but probably not!:rolleyes::

I always make a pass with my wallet. Not that I am so worried about it getting stolen. I just want to make it easier to identify the body.

Re: Thief in the pits.

25 or so years ago the guy next to us opened his camper door in the gators pits and found a drunk sleeping in his bed and threw him out. The bad part is the guy had peed himself in the bed. The owner was not happy ! Apparenly the guys camper was a little furthur down the aisle. Good thing too, the guy might have peed in his own bed. It was a lot funnier to us then it was to him.

If so he should be ban from racing. Tom

if this guy brings legal action against the people that caught him someone needs to set up a fund for legal fees for whoever caught this person. i'll contribute. if everyone contributes this could possibly make some of the other ones think.

No, now is a time for the racers to show some unity. ( as far as the "woopass" ) No one saw anything. No one was involved. We can't help it this guy fell outta a motor home running from the cops. End of story. JB

Re: Thief in the pits.

I've heard of this happening ever since I started going to national events in the late 90s. I'm sure most people have heard of it happening also. Why don't people lock up their motorhomes when they leave, especially when they go to make a run? Jody even locks up his trailer when he goes to make a run.

Re: Thief in the pits.

I'm sure the fellows who happened to detain him were merely acting in self defense after the alleged thief probably became belligerent and attacked them in an effort to escape before law enforcement was on the scene. By the way, did he have a weapon? The page that is linked to the mug shot lists a Class 1 Felony weapons charge..

I'm not trying to pick on what Toby's saying, but I know that motorhome in the video and the owner very well. I can guarantee it was locked.

Re: Thief in the pits.

When I spectate and take pics at the races I have always been especially careful to always walk in the main and driving area and try very hard to NOT cut through between trailers. I will only cut through if I know someone or I will excuse myself for slipping through should someone be there. I have the utmost respect for the racers and their vehicles.

If he's so hard up to be pulling this stuff, then the likelihood seems high that he'll try and lawyer up as soon as he can.

Re: Thief in the pits.

In the You Tube cell camera phone posting you can see the guy wiping his prints off the door and handle; he's obviously got experience. His mug shot has him wearing a cervical collar (neck collar). He got what I call "ROMAN JUSTICE"; immediate and swift, but it should have ended with him missing both hands; maybe make him run the gautlet afterwards. Like the old Saturday Night Live episode with Steve Martin as a midieval judge; "let's see, first we caught you lying and we cut out your tounge, then we caught you stealing and cut off your hands, now the charge is adultery; what would be an appropriate punishment........................................ ?" Butch/56sedandelivery.

Re: Thief in the pits.

ya'll can say what you want, but the guy tripped and fell on a cyprus stump as he was trying to flee. That's the way it happened, from someone who was actually there.
