Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
In tech at the Summernationals at Englishtown in the late 70's or so, Buddy had his Cutlass on his ramptruck. He had just switched it from a 12 bolt to a dana and he was telling all how much more hp it took to run the dana. It was a small block stick super stocker as I remember. Smart man, will be missed

Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
Prayers for Mr. Ingersoll...Wasn't he a partner in that '56 Chev 2-door wagon SS car...the "Marrakesh Express?"
Saw it about '74 Indy I think...they were fixin the cast iron 'glide..... |
Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
Rest in Peace Mr. Ingersall

Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
Rest in Peace, My Friend! You're in good company up in Heaven.
My heart felt condolences to the Ingersoll Family. Lew Silverman |
Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
Buddy was always thinking out of the box. I saw him playing the giant killer 20+ years ago in Pro Stock at Bristol with the small v6 turbo. IHRA quickly decided letting the 270ish. inch v6 turbo in with the mountain motored Pro Stocks was a bad idea. Buddy was a great asset to the sport. Don Jackson

Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
Very sad! I first met Buddy when we were both running 225 HP '56 Chevys in N /S at the Spring Natiolals at the Dallas track in the early '70s, (The one at Lewisville)
Buddy always had nice cars. Hard worker, bright guy. Loved to visit with him. He will be missed. |

Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
THIS IS A SAD DAY...
I have a favorite of Buddy's innovations amongst all of them. It's when he had all the pro stock guys crying about his v6 turbo that blew the doors off any Pro stock at the time...NHRA banned him from humming it if I remember correctly, anybody have pics of that car and the et and mph? |

I think this is it:

Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
Buddy was a great man and will be sorely missed. He was always great to talk to.
I'll never forget his eyes lighting up when I told him how much I enjoyed watching him run the turbo car. It was special to him just like it was special to a whole bunch of people. My sincere condolences to Mark and the rest of Buddy's family and friends. I feel honored to have known him. |
Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
A great innovator. A good Class racer and another friend I will remember and miss from Class racing..
Rest in Peace Buddy. |
Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
I met him once at Ennis, bought a tee-shirt from him and he just hung out at the back of the trailer and bs-ed with me for probably 15 minutes or so. He seemed to appreciate the interest of the fans and just seemed to be a really good old guy. I still have the tee-shirt!

Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
Has anyone heard of the arrangements for his services?
|
Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
Buddy loved race cars...loved working and making them go fast...winning and having fun. So many funny stories! I hope he got to take a ride in his rod before be passed...lots of friends were working to make that happen. I know Buddy appreciated the efforsts and the companship.
He's one of few racers that NHRA put "horsepower" on him at an event...he just smiled and went quicker! |
Re: RIP Buddy Ingersoll
