Re: Info on a 64 Dodge liteweight Maxi wedge car
The car is currently red ,as when new ,but apart and in need of restoration. we think Stan Crane drove /owned the car when it was new and raced at Bonniville drag strip in Utah. in the early 70 s Rick Jones from the Utah area owned and or drove..The car was called stripteaser at this time. i guess what im looking for is new to early 70s. history or info. Thanks Steve.

Re: Info on a 64 Dodge liteweight Maxi wedge car
THe local papers did a decent job of covering the Salt lake and Bonneville dragstrips. From what I found, there was a Dave Johnson who ran a 1964 stg 111 ramcharger in the S/SA class. He is mentioned winning over the course of the season. Unfortunatley, they did not list class winners and sometimes there was no mention of the stockers. Is your car an automatic? I wonder if this is your guy. I did not see a mention of a stan Crane in 1964. In 1965, Stan crane raced a 1965 hemi car. I will have to dig up all the results and articles I have collected over the years for the 1964/65 seasons. THere was also a track in St George, Utah. Most likely, if they didnt race at Boneville, they probable went to the Pocatello track in Pocatello, Idaho. DId you research the Crane Brothers? Rex ran a 1963 max wedge in 63 and then went to gasser.

Re: Info on a 64 Dodge liteweight Maxi wedge car
I checked the results form the 1965 racing season at the bonneville dragstrip. Dennis Madson raced a S/SA Dodge and won a few Top Stock Elims throughout the season. It does not mention the year of the car. He raced U/SS class which is an AHRA classification for lightweight front end cars. He set the U/SS strip record on May 15th, 1965 E.T. 114.64.
There is also mention of a Bob Runyon racing A/FX class. No mention of car make/model. He set A/X record with E.t. 12.67 on same date. |

Re: Info on a 64 Dodge liteweight Maxi wedge car
According to the drag racing results from the dixie elks dragstrip in St. George's Utah, there was a Jack Wiley who ran a 1964 Dodge in the U/S class which would make it a 4 speed lightweight car. It says he is from Antimony, Utah or Junction.
