My car not ready yet. I put motor in this week and now waiting on trans and converter. 70 Camaro back-half for hot rod /superstreet / bracket (sorry for saying this on the s/ss thread) . The car is built pretty much like a superstocker and may be one day..... |
Re: Live in rockingham?
Danny I'm not sure where the live is. I thought I saw Beard earlier today putting on some decals but maybe it wasn't. I did see little Danny make a super rod pass and I busted my rear end trying to run the bracket race. Thanks to the Broadways I'll have a ride tomorrow, I'll be wheeling Greg's camaro when we go to elimanations so I'm thankful to have good friends.

Re: Live in rockingham?
Workin'.... been trying to upload pics to my Facebook page. Phone's fightin' me. Delivered decals for a bunch of customers, installed a couple, and put together a 4'x8' Redline Speed Shop sponsor sign for Fayetteville's winner's circle on the floor of reigning Div. 9 Super Stock Champion Robbie Draughon's trailer.
http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...01876458_n.jpg Based on the early forecast, I thought it was supposed to be hot today! Turned out to be cool and overcast much of the day, with a fair cross-tail wind -- something you don't often get at Rockingham. Did some impromptu driving school sessions, and was a useless bystander while Tim Sloan discovered and worked toward replacing a cracked trans cooler line. When I came in this morning, they explained to me that they were not selling 1-day spectator tickets, and that I had to buy a 2-day pass (plus a $10 parking pass) for a total of $50, and then if I left by 9pm, they would refund me $20. If I wasn't delivering decals, and was "just" a fan, I probably would've turned around and left. I headed out at 8:47pm, and was informed by the guy at the gate that he was just a security guy, and the girls had packed up at 8pm, and he couldn't help me. I guess I'm paid up for tomorrow, so maybe I'll go back and try to make myself useful in some respect. Re: Live in rockingham?
Larry had sold the motor that was in the car when someone "wanted it more than he did", and went back to his trusty Production combo. In early testing the other week, a massive wheelstand led to a cracked windshield and other collateral damage. He got it settled down a bit this week with an -.897 under 5.60 in the 1/8th, good for the #3 Qualifying position.

Re: Live in rockingham?
Winner's circle photos were taken on the starting line. It was a deathtrap for shoes! Do not stand in one place for very long, or you WILL get stuck, as Kevin Riner found out!

Congrats to CJ on the first one.
Congrats to all the other finalist too. That Chevy II stick car is one slick ride. The Barry Dunn car is For Sale if anybody id Looking. It's a very Nice car too. The track was the best I've seen in a long time. Thanks IHRA and Steve Earwood for the Time Trial this morning. I think thats something we need to keep doing. Chip Johnson |

I'd just gotten up to the fence, and Larry was shaking down a new combo... hoped to get something useful for him. Don't worry, we'll get some of you before too long... need to do them hero cards!

Here is a link from Darlington in 2010. It wouldn't let me upload just his picture, but maybe you will enjoy the others also. http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=28177 Haven't been able to hook up with them this year. I'll be in Jackson, SC in couple of weeks, so hopefully he will come there. It's a little bit of a pull, but if not, maybe somewhere in NC this year, either IHRA 2 or 9. Butch |
