"Live" from Atlanta 2012
 

Well we are on the road! We are in Tennessee already! Already had one of those "stupid old people" tricks. Larry left his cell phone at home. But Chris has forwarded his calls to my phone. So if you call Larry's phone, don't hang up if a woman answers!!

Since there are not but 39 stockers entered, I am going to have a goal this weekend to get a pictures of all of them, and most of super stock, too!

After freezing last weekend in Indy, it looks like record high temps in Atlanta this week. Near 90 every day, with only Friday having a chance of rain! Looks like there will be some cold adult beverages consumed this week!

We haven't been to Atlanta in quite a few years. Is there a good place or bad place to park? We should be there by 4 or so this afternoon.

Hey Patsy,

Not any really good or really bad parking places in Atlanta. There's easy access to the staging lanes from pretty much anywhere.

Be sure to keep things locked up. There's always a big problem with things being stolen out of motorhomes and trailers. Hopefully they'll have some extra security this year.

Chances are you will be somewhere in the grass. Just watch out for the fire ants!!!

I'll be there by noon tomorrow. No working tech for me...just Safety Fri-Sun so tomorrow will be my goof off day. I have wine & beer in the RV fridge already cold!

Well we are here and parked with the first consideration being "Evening shade"! Our big awning is out and I can see we are reallly going to need it this weekend. It is HOT and HUMID! There are not very many sportsmen here at all. We have seen Mike Crutchfield and the Dennis's. So if you are going to be here early tomorrow, it looks like you can still get a Primo spot. We are in the row kinda in front of the Jegs rig at the end of the small grandstand. Come on by to see us!

Well it is Thursday morning here in Atlanta and I even got to sleep in for my birthday! Thanks for the birthday wishes, but Chris, you never tell a woman's age!

They are pulling rigs in and parking this morning. Larry is cleaning up the racecar and I am cleaning up the motorhome. Being gone racing 3 weekends in a row in the rain and cold everything gets to be a mess!

I will get out and begin taking some pics after while.

Great day here at Atlanta, we got through tech with no problem at all, heard some super class people had to go to chute packing school as the tech guys wanted to see a pop chute come out. Anyhow we changed belts today updating them till 2015 (dont get me started on some of these $$ rules). Ralphie is starting supper and we will get set for our 3 runs in the morning.

Well we have had a slow and nice day here. It is always great to see our friends again.

Thanks to stock racer Robert Strane for the homemade Alabama wine! It was really good. I will have to find out tomorrow what kind it was. It was sweet, maybe strawberry?? But thanks again. Jeff, I'm sorry, but we drank it out of plastic cups and not proper stemware. Since it was homemade, it seemed appropriate!! But it was really good!

Well more tomorrow. We start out with stock at 9:30.

Well typical for every race that we have been to this year except for Belle Rose, it is raining in Commerce this morning. It is just a light rain, but rain is rain! The radar shows it will probably be here for a short time. So look for an updated schedule. More later.

38 stockers. Rampy did not get a car to run, evidently. He was the only one that did not go down that was entered.

We slowed down 2 tenths from last weekend. From my unofficial times, it looks like Eakins at no. 1. Britt Cummings no.2, then Slate Cummings no. 3. -.92 under, -.91 under, -.90 under.

It is very humid. I will give you the numbers when Larry gets them run.,

it sure was a long day to only see one run, heaven help up us if we lost 1 run and pro's would lose 1 run, lol.
Hopefully we will have a Q run in the am and then really we will have only lost one run. We (Rich South's GT/EA G5) are number 2, short field for sure with 33, the pits are really light here.
