Indy

how many grade points did Indy take last year and what do think this year will take

Re: Indy

Stock didnt fill up last year at Indy.Super Stock was a different story.

Re: Indy

As Lyn stated but with the revised National Event Guidelines a Super Stocker could get in with just one grade point if enough withdraw (and there are always some). Bout time for a thread how far under will it take to get in? Think Jeff Teuton likes to kick that off...as defending champ in Stock I'll defer to him.

If a Sportsman category reaches quota and spots become available prior to the deadline of 1 pm PST Monday the week of the event, entries will be accepted if the competitor has sufficient grade points at the time of entry.

a. Example – SS for a National Event reaches quota at Grade 4, when the event opens for a grade 3 and spots become available in SS, competitors with a grade 3 will be eligible for entry.

Getting in to Indy with 1 grade point is good......getting into the 128 field eliminator with the dead last .039 under the index due to the carnage is even better....going a round and winning money....priceless.....

Not only barn, but rod and piston when you qualify #1 with that P/U truck Richard.

Re: Indy

I think a few more than the 141 that went last year. As far as how far under, that depends on how the new heads up stock thing winds up in it's final configuration. That class is a part of Stock, but the index has not been finalized as has the final weights not been finalized, but it's for the 08 cars and newer. I think the index will make it harder for those newer cars to get in. Could change a few places, but it won't change the number of cars entered overall. A few less newer cars, and a few more classics. I say 160 in and 625 under. Subject to change. I have been wrong before, I think it was in 1959. But that's another story. Need some help here. Last year we brought 20 cases, and brougnt home 2 6-packs. I was thinking 25 this year including Bowling Green?

1959? Heck, Jeff, we were still in high school.

Unfortunately you are correct, Ed. Don't tell anybody.

If you pack in 25 cases of beer, just don't forget the sewer hose this time!

Re: Indy

We kinda overlooked that item when packing the beer. Just goes to show our priorities.

Maybe I will be there to help with some of the beer this year, Jeff! Hope the Southland Bunch are doing well!

This should read now:
If a Sportsman category reaches quota and spots become available prior to the deadline of 1 pm PST Monday the week of the event, entries will be accepted if the competitor has at least one grade point at the time of entry.

It got changed after Gators of this year, I pitched a bitch that they had open spots and wouldn't take my money because of a logically stupid policy. I think someone in California seen the light and changed the policy.
