Chevy Racing lack of work
Just saw a email from a Cliff Cohen at Chevy racing Sounds as though Chevy is way behind on COPO's guys in the 50's range serial will not get theirs till end of November/ December of 2012 sounds like it could be you you could get a 2012 in 2013. Big question is would there be End of model sale?

Re: Chevy Racing lack of work
I wonder how many will actually hit the strip. I know of a few people getting them, who is on the list that will actually run them??

Re: Chevy Racing lack of work
Mine is number 6. It is scheduled for July/August pick-up. It will be raced!
Thanks for posting the links. I am stuck in Mexico for two weeks, so this has given me something to dream about. |
Re: Chevy Racing lack of work

Re: Chevy Racing lack of work
Bet he didn't have to pay the extra $5,600.00 to build his own engine, like the real racers of these cars will have to do!

Re: Chevy Racing lack of work
i knew that GM offers this personal build for ZR1, ZO6 and select crate engines. I did not know they offered this option to COPO owners.
|
Re: Chevy Racing lack of work
It was a option and if you elected to buy all three engines there was a option to build all three at $5,600 each
|
Re: Chevy Racing lack of work
Why would a person want to pay $5600. to assemble their engine? Sometimes I hear scary things.
|
Re: Chevy Racing lack of work
When get your car better take engine out and make sure it meets Submited NHRA specs and that it is clean assembled correctly!

Re: Chevy Racing lack of work
Wow Ralph, easy on the job bank american worker!! if you've seen the show GEARS the host Stacy David builds his own LS-7 and it's fool proof. The guys at the factory don't just let you loose in the plant to assemble what ever you want, you are taken from one station to another by a trained american engine builder who does this every day and the engine is also put on the dyno...Don't bash the few american workers who still have a job. Re: Chevy Racing lack of work
It is not fool proof. When you saw the show which I also watched when did you see a measuring of parts done? They don't measure any clearances, not would go to the tear down barn with this I sure won't. When a Z 06 fails it usually includes a buy back of the vehicle cause it is no longer a numbers matching vehicle.
Also the parts are not 100% inspected how will you be sure they are made to print and the stack up clearances are correct? |
