Re: A Stick Challenge-A/SA Challenge Indy!!!!
We are getting some very nice support! Keep it coming! The A Stick and A/SA racers will have more support than any class at Indy with your help!
I am putting up a basic support list now as you see it in the first post, but next week as things get more firmed up, I willl post a more detailed list of what the exact contingent and support items are. I think you will all be pleased and surprised. There has been talk about how sponsors made racers feel special and appreciated for their efforts as sportsman and customers"back in the day". The understanding that we live and breathe heads up racing. We test and tear up stuff. We trim the lights to .000 when we can and maybe pull that extra quart or two just to be able and take that stripe in a heads up battle. Many feel that those days are gone. Not me........ The good news is that there are still people out there that can help us get that feeling back! The support I channel from everyone to the A Stick and again this year in A/SA should reward the racers and fans with a better racing experience. It will make every competitor feel good about going up to the line and taking a shot until there is only one class champion in A stick and A/SA this year at Indy! Remember, Please Remember the sponsors and supporters. They get it! We need to support them and show them that we appreciate them and that we agree with their decision to support us! In future posts, I will add more info about the products and sponsors. You all have homework! I need you to read, research and buy from them. If you agree with the support they are giving to us, thank them specifically for giving the support and remind them that is why you are giving them a shot at your business. This all works because of the racers in the classes, the other racers and fans that support our sponsors and ClassRacer.com allowing us to send the message to all of you! Tell your family and friends. Make an effort and help us help you! Stay tuned and check back often for updates! Thank you all for your continued support! http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...kinsBailey.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...cfarland08.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...10/Astick6.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...er/ASTroyH.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...er/ASBaird.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...joliet3063.jpg |

Re: A Stick Challenge-A/SA Challenge Indy!!!!
I'm getting some Huggies made for the A/S, A/SA, and FS/S Shootout. I will put up $100 to the winner of A/S and A/SA and $50 to the runner up. Of course, double if it's a Mopar. And don't forget I will have beverages to go in the Huggies. And I'm probably not finished yet. James, if I got this figured right, A/S and A/SA should be through with tech on Friday night, and FS/S should finish with the Hemi cars. I guess we can invite them for a beverage? What do you think.

Re: A Stick Challenge-A/SA Challenge Indy!!!!
Jeff, I think that is a great idea! You might have to load a few more cans of beer in the toter!

Re: A Stick Challenge-A/SA Challenge Indy!!!!
We have almost 25 different Class racer Contingent Sponsors for the Challenge Racers! As a person that runs an older Stick Car, I can tell you it is the best class support there is at Indy this year!
We have had some great grass roots support all the way up to Corp support. And don't forget the Beer Truck Jeff is bringing ! LOL. There is still time to kick in. Last year didn't disappoint! We had some great racing! The A/Stick Challenge was a nail biter for sure! The A/SA challenge had Drama on the track ......and the pits! I expect nothing less than a great full on assault on the index in both of these classes! Nothing but Wide Open Throttle! It should be good! Remember to keep visiting the top thread as I will be updating our sponsor list there. If you would like to contribute, e mail me at jimschaechter@earthlink.net! Thanks, Jim |

Re: A Stick Challenge-A/SA Challenge Indy!!!!
Please check the top thread for a detailed list for the A/Stick and A/SA Schwag and $$$ List!
I have added a list for A/Stick and A/SA as they are slightly different. Some supporters have also chosen both classes and are listed in both areas. Some are cash or gift cert and or product support. I try to list an approx value to give all an idea for the level of support! We do have a few requests for participants to run decals. If that is the case, I will have them with me. Note that Nitroplate is providing EACH participant of the A/S and A/SA with a $75.00 off Gift Cert and a NITROPLATE T Shirt this year! These Companies and Racers ( sometimes both) are jumping in to support Heads Up! Class Racing! This shows what can be done, even at a time when contingency can be seen as NON-Existant. This can serve as a positive model for others, but I need your help! All Racers!!! Please take note of these sponsors! Give them a chance at your business! They Get It! Make sure to thank them for the Challenge Support and use their services! Buy their products! We cannot continue to complain about the contingency process if we do not support those that support us! Write them down, call them, e mail them PLEASE! Make them right for supporting Class Racing! P.S. This list is not final, but getting close! Please continue to check back to the top thread for updates! Thanks to ALL participants and Supporters! THANKS KEN MIELE- WWW.CLASSRACER.COM!!!! |
Re: A Stick Challenge-A/SA Challenge Indy!!!!
I have a very special award for the A Stick Challenge Winner. This very thoughtful and inspiring award comes from Shawn Allsup fellow stick racer (K/Stick Mustang) and Air Force Quality Assurance Inspector for the 9th Reconnaissance Wing.
Shawn has managed to procure an American Flag that was flown over Afganistan in a U-2 Spyplane! This comes complete with a certificate of authenticity from the pilot and the squad commander! priceless! As they say. Thanks Shawn! http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...ard2012001.jpg |
Re: A Stick Challenge-A/SA Challenge Indy!!!!
Attention Racers....I need a huge favor from any "Indy Local" racers. I have a prize for the A/S Challenge winner, but it took a bit longer to complete than expected along with delays of me being away with the military. I need someone "Indy Local" who I can ship a package to and then hand deliver it to Jim's trailer. I had a U.S. Flag flown over Afganistan a few weeks back in one of our U-2 "Spy Planes" It will come with a Certificate and Coin that verify its flight. If anyone can assist I can ship it directly to you. I missed the deadline to get the package to Jim before he leaves for the race.
If anyone can help please give me a call at 1-530-933-1169, or via e-mail to Notch1320@yahoo.com, or just respond here and I will get back to you ASAP. I want to ensure the winner of the A/S Challenge is presented this at the event. http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/t...ard2012001.jpg |
Re: A Stick Challenge-A/SA Challenge Indy!!!!
Big thanks to Dennis Breeden for taking care of the delivery on the Flag!
|
Re: A Stick Challenge-A/SA Challenge Indy!!!!
Hey Racers, Just a reminder...
We typically have one or more winner in the "Barn" after class, so we don't schedule the awards presentation until after that is done. Should be Friday evening. Stay tuned. I will try and get the word out and post on ClassRacer, but keep your eyes and ears open. As mentioned by Jeff Teuton, we will award the winners at the Teuton Pit Compound! Nitro, I need your cell number if you want me to call, text you, etc. :) |
Re: A Stick Challenge-A/SA Challenge Indy!!!!
Another nice deal for the A/ Stick Champ!
For the 5th anniversary, something cool! We have a trophy that will travel with the champ. The winner brings it to Indy to defend all comers and earn the right to hold it another year. If there is a new champion, then the prior year Champ can present to the new Champion with honor. This is no ordinary trophy! Long shifters contributed a pistol grip shifter Dennis Breeden and his Uncle designed and built the wooden base and name plates Veteran race car fabricator and stick racer Ernie Neal made the shifter functional so that the pistol grip shifter moves back and forth like a vertigate should! I have the nameplates and the trophy will have past champions listed on it to date! Brett McFarland Jim Waldo John Calvert Caleb McFarland 2012? Another show of respect and admiration for the A stick racers! I can't thank all the participants and supporters enough! http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...r/photo-27.jpg |
Re: A Stick Challenge-A/SA Challenge Indy!!!!
Well, Jim has done it again, hard work and a great idea and Jim deserves the credit for making it happen . I hope everyone involved gives Jim a big thanks and also same to the sponsors. I really enjoyed running the challenge last year, not going to make it this year, best of luck to all.
Make sure there is a "toast" to Jim at the award get together party (proper stemware is a must) |
