"Live From" Atco NHRA Lucas Oil Series 2012
 

Hello everyone, sorry for the late start. Jack is swamped at work and although I was here yesterday testing my new ride, I did not get a chance to post.

The weather here is hot and humid. No rain in site, but its going to be a hot one.

Temp right now is 85 going up to 93.

We should be starting about 10 am with stock. Jack will be here late tonight and will add his thoughts when he gets here. Below is a shot of my ride for this weekend. In testing it was fun to drive, but there is a learning curve over my car. Being slow does not mean its easier, every car has its own personality.

The pits are full already and it should be a great day of racing. Be back later after my first qualifying shot.

Stock made two run 65 on frist and I don t know about the second .Its slow 10.72 and 10.74 in D

Todd, according to 1320Go, the track sustained damage due to recent storms and lightning, and Live Timing will not be functioning for this race.

Sorry for being mia. I have had some issues to deal with and have not had the time. I will be back later with a rap up. It was very slow, temp was 97 and high humidity. the DA was around 3700 ft.

I think the reason there’s no drc posting might be no one is here from drc. So posting results will not be done until the day is over I’m guessing. I will try to get a copy of both s/ss qualifying

They are just finishing up with the clean ups. It looks dark out here and we might get some thunderstorms, Jack must be near. I was told that drc will be here tomorrow, so we should see some timely reports. There will be qualifying up later tonight. The qualifying you see now has some errors and I assume that will change today or tomorrow. Mike is correct there will be no live timing, the storms that came through here the other day wrecked havoc and all the computer systems.

Gary Richard has another combo out, driven by Anthony Fetch. Its 2010 CJ with a 352. I was talking to Anthony and he loves it. Its the silver CJ in the picture, its one of the original CJ's not a biw.

We are supposed to get one hit in the morning and then go into eliminations. I was told they will try to run as many rounds as they can tomorrow.

Hi gang - I finally drug my tired bones to the track tonight and believe me when I came thru the gates I couldn't believe my eyes .The place is packed - in the last few years I can't remember it being this full - tommorrow morning I'll take some high up shots of the pits and you'll see what i'm talking about .

In my absence Ken was kind enough to fill in - not sure where he found the time ....well you know how it is when you're on the Provisional Pole and what with the autograph sessions and appearances and all . Thanks Ken ......and you better not dock me for today because as you can see I'm working overtime tonight .And oh BTW you're looking pretty sporty in that new ride - better thank Anthony a bunch ! ! !

I'm doing this in spurts as the Internet tonight is terrible - it keeps booting me off .

The ride here was plenty eventful - rain - thunderstorms - wind - heat - humidity .....you name it and it happened on the way here .It got so bad at one point I spent some time in a rest area - it was quiet and peaceful listening to the rain on the coach roof .Ah - thats livin' .............

I can't finish up tonight without talking about fuel a little as I stopped on Route 73 just outside of Berlin at the Valero station to see my friend Punjab and get some of his inexpensive diesel -I cant believe its .35 to .45 cents a gallon cheaper here in New Jersey and Punjab even puts it in .

See you folks in the AM -- I'm told there is a possibility that many rounds will be run tomorrow as bad weather is expected Sunday ........whatever happens ClassRacer.COM will keep you up to date ......................later .

Hey Rock, its a fun ride. I am so used to my old junk, it makes my car look like a model T. Everything new and hi-tech. I would love to have one, but I could never give up my car. I would love it if NHRA would let us use some of this new technology in the old cars.

Error: There is a 09 ' Challenger in H/SA. I got that combo bumped out of H and G. Maybe a H/S. Anybody know?

Good morning boys and girls - Whatever time we were to go out this morning is off the table as during the night bigtime fog rolled in and talk about pea soup this is it -visibility is about 50 yards at best and it feels like you're soaking wet but not raining .Numbers ? here they are - 77 degrees w/ 74% humidity and 106 grains of water but w/ 30.02 barometer and totals up to 2100' already .

The Internet here this morning is again the worst so I jumped on Atcos' wi-fi and pirated some of Joe Sways' signal .........thanks Joe ! !

I really like that 62 Dart in your photos. It appears to be a Dart 500 which is a really rare piece on its own. From the sheets I see it's in B which seems pretty high for a 383, or is that body that light?

Got to hurry before I lose signal - qualifing is almost over - its extra hot and humid this morning - most went slow again - round robin this afternoon and evening - sunny and partly cloudy ........suntan lotion is the word of the day ..............

First round in all categories is done. The just called Stock to the lanes for round 2 a long with the final of comp. The weather is about the same as yesterday. We did have allot of break outs for first round, there was a pretty stiff tail wind.

It looks like they should be able to finish this race today.

Jeff, I did check on Daniels H car. He told me his running H and has no idea what your are talking about. His is H and that's were he is staying. He said the only error is you.

I just got off the comp. web site, If it is upto date none of the 09 dodges can run H with a automatic. Just saying, Rick.

At least the car in the wrong class did not win 1st round. That could have been embarrassing. How would it have been explained if it was to win the event?

Yeah, I am in error. I made H dissappear two years ago, and I finished off G this year. He is only 3 classes out of the way. His problem and NHRA's, not mine. No Drag Pak with an automatic can run below F/SA. Stick shift still @ 11.63 I think. Auto @ 10.32 or E/SA as stated earlier

OK - So this isn't Stock/ SuperStock stuff but what its been has been pure torture for me anyway .This car has been parked right out my front windshield for several days now and I glad I'm leaving soon as I can't stand it anymore .Sure - its not a new Mustang or Camaro or even a Challenger ......but what it is -- well pure sex on wheels is what I'd call it .The brand - Mercedes Benz CLS 550 - they're not for everyone but what lines they have .The owner - Jackie Fricke - Division One Alcohol pilot - next time I'll know not to park near her pit as once you look at this car you have to look more .Hope she didn't mind me drooling all over her new car ..........

And for awhile in the last two years Mopars had a ringer in every class AA thru H ...........As you know this sport is an ever changing deal .
