It will be interesting to see how it runs. What's the difference in weight and hp ratings?? I ran the car as a '67, I don't know what year he is claiming now. I think I ran at 3290 when I ran the L88 in SS/B. |

Re: INDY: SS/B looks interesting
Shot heard round the world... lol well at least to Afghanistan. Three very nice hits for the first time out with a new car. I would say it should be a class contender once its tuned in.

Re: INDY: SS/B looks interesting
Dallas and the Wreckin Crew were at Edgewater last night for a little test and tune. Dick Butler was right , what a beautiful car. Six years in the making. Silver over Poppy red. You have to see this one in person. Been watching Dallas race for over 45 years, all of his cars were great looking and fast, but this car is over the top. No surprise, a couple of passes , plenty of power and a 9.06 first time out. No need to say any more. Good luck Dallas and hope to see you at Indy.

Hopefully things will go well at BG and there is still room at Indy once he get that grade point. Then there will be three T-bolts in SS/B. 1964 all over again....:D

Re: INDY: SS/B looks interesting
Good news. I know Dallas has "hand done" this entire work of art. MPR does a wonderful chassis job and Dallas should win Best engineered. Good luck Dallas I am so excited for your come back to SS. Too Bad we couldnt Keep TOP/SS a little longer. Maybe it is time to restart..

That was without lightweight seats, with iron heads, filled block. We had 350 lbs. above the rear axle and additional 100+ ballast in front of the radiator to make the 50-50 rule (remember that?). |
Re: INDY: SS/B looks interesting

Re: INDY: SS/B looks interesting
How did it go?
|
Re: INDY: SS/B looks interesting
Congrats Charlie on your first Ford experience, but be careful these ole FE school bus motors will grow on ya.
|
Re: INDY: SS/B looks interesting
It went pretty well. We were helping Ray get used to the clutchless trans, shift light stuff.
He should be fine at indy. I still dont have the new motor done yet, seems that the fords I have been working on lately, take forever. |

Re: INDY: SS/B looks interesting
I ordered tool steel lifters for my AMC stocker in March! This will be their first set they've made so I knew it would be awhile. On Monday I'm placing an order for a Hall effect distributor from ICE Ignition. They're in Australia. I'm sure my parts will be on the slowest boat available. I'm used to it.
