I have a $100 cash for the #1 qualifier in Stock at the 2012 U.S. Nationals.
Who else is in?

Re: #1 Qualifier In Stock At The US Nats.

Larry, I'm a little skeptical that you would park the Cuda for even one race but it would be great to have something besides a CJ on the top...I say go for it!

Re: #1 Qualifier In Stock At The US Nats.

you wont be the only truck...
and if shaw wants to... a truck wont even win class (welcome life in u/sa)...

i do have a question, and this is a legitimate question TRAVIS or WADE...
if two trucks go -1.20 do they get double the HP hits ??...
if so i'm coming !

now that would be a good day !

captain :)

I got a $100 that Bob Shaw can't win U/SA at indy this year. That pick-up is way faster.

I don;t have a clue about what car or class Shaw will run. But if he wants Number 1 he will get it.

BTW. I don't see Bob Shaw entered yet,

Actually it was a little over 13 %

I think Bob has been retired from racing for a few years.I could be wrong, but i really doubt if he comes out of retirement to run the US nationals.

Re: #1 Qualifier In Stock At The US Nats.

Charlie, take a look at your time slip from Belle Rose when you ran Bob Shaw in the CIC race. Remember I said to you at the time " that's nothing, look at his MPH, it's the same as what I run, and I'm going 14.50's". There is a whole lot more in that car than you think. Don't be going crazy on me and be bettin a hun, youd be loosen a hun.

Ron Ortiz
U/SA I saw his et & mph on the scoreboard before I crossed the finish line.

KRatcliff 08-08-2012 03:26 PM

Re: #1 Qualifier In Stock At The US Nats.

A funny story (to me) that Bob told me one time was that he would get just past the 660' and set his cruise control for eliminations.

Billy Nees 08-08-2012 04:33 PM

Re: #1 Qualifier In Stock At The US Nats.

I hate to say this but if Bob did show up with the Caddy I think that he would get his clock cleaned. Sorry guys but I've got to go with the 350 Chevy at 165 hp over the 350 Olds/Caddy at 186 hp.

Ron Ortiz 08-08-2012 04:43 PM

Re: #1 Qualifier In Stock At The US Nats.

Wow, really Billy. Heard from a little birdie that Shaw has gone 12.60. And you're saying the truck is faster. Wow.

Hey Charlie, looks like you be gettin a hun.

Ron Ortiz
U/SA so, i would read the scoreboard a lot sooner

Quite a few years. LOL He told me that it was his last year in 1998. I was in with 1.30 under we ran each other during the only car trophy run. and he went 1.47 under. So he took 1st. (better him than me). LOL

Re: #1 Qualifier In Stock At The US Nats.

Im with Charlie I dont think anyone can run with the truck, a really well prepped one
should go a square 2 seconds under without breathing hard.

Boy that's a tuff one! There are a lot of fast cars out there (if) they want to show what they GOT! I could pick one but I will not SAY!!:D

Sure are a lot of people that seem to know of this top secret Indy truck build!

Andrew Hill 08-08-2012 07:07 PM

Re: #1 Qualifier In Stock At The US Nats.

Essentially the same motor in a camaro has to weigh the same in H/SA as the truck does in U/SA, just a little difference in compression. I bet a well prepared truck could go 3 seconds under the 14.85 index easy.

Andrew, plus the truck gets to use a .430 .430 cam. Tom

Heck charley, maybe you should just let Paul Wong turn your Mustang loose in G. Maybe you could keep the hundred then! LOL

I hear alot of talking yet I seam to be the only one willing to put money up for it.

Just for the record I will bet anyone, that bob shaw's caddy combo WILL NOT out run the 350 truck combo.

James we just might let Paul run the CJ all out at INDY for fun. Seeing how he is the only guy in our camp that scales less then 180lbs. My Fat ***** can't make the min for H/S. And next year we are switching to the 352 stick combo. Can't wait to run F/S.

Yeah, don't look at me. I haven't been south of 180 for awhile now!
Hell. I would pay 100 to see your car go 10.60 in g at the US Nationals this year!

I'm sitting here thinking that the "Stock Automatic" combo at Indy is going to be a bloodbath.

There probably not be that many cars stock automatic combo. There were only four last year.

Footnote to thread: The 5.7 Hemi Stick runs F/S @ 3370 with the driver. Just a footnote. I think I got a Red Challenger and a 5.7 and some guy who knows about them things. Matter of fact, we went 9.89 in testing, just saying.

Alright, let's make this a race, drag pak vs cobra jet, first F/S in the 9s. Bonus points if you manage to get 50+ HP in one run. Hell, even with 50 HP, the 5.7 with a stick would only be halfway to where the auto is.

it wont happen but i will place my $100 on the caddy, and maybe more if i hadnt got shaw hit 3 times...maybe a match race on the way home for wong ???

anyone know if two cars go under auto hit same combo same race does it hit twice i am afraid wade is right because the Automatic Help For Slugs cannot work.

They will be in Q/SA after Indy anyway. Hell if a mistake is made at brainerd it may not be a U/SA by Indy. Get the yacht out and knock the dust off it.

I don't think so. It'll take 21 HP to get it out of U.
