Radiators are not steel.

They're either aluminum or copper/brass in most cases.

It would help to know what class you're running.

You'll need a copper/brass radiator that fits the car correctly.

The good news is that they are easy to get. The tanks are top and bottom. If you need some measurements, let me know.

The 66 Impala radiator will work in a 66 Nova. I think I had to redrill two of the holes. The one in my car is from a 65 Impala.

We got a 66 impala settin for 20 years. the rad still has antifreeze in it. The tanks are on top and bottom. I found one that bolts up the same way but the tanks are on the side. I am gonna try and buy a new one tomorrow I guess. What should I try and buy a new one for?? the chevy 2 or something else?

What Joe said on the rad. We replaced our battery tray witha new one years back, but I don't see a problem strngtheningnyours to get by. We used thresded rod and square alum tubing from the hardware store to hold the battery down.

Phil, Hope you can see this..It's fabricated aluminum. I didn't even paint it to hide it.
No one ever said anything to my...Four teardowns.
Just fix what you've got . It'll be fine.

If I remember correctly when you use threaded rod it has to be 3/8 dia, at least that was what I was told by a tech guy once when I had used 5/16.

They battery will be fine. I dont like finding things out the hard way plus they are cheaper to fix at the shop. I am excited about attending my first NHRA div.

Do you think it's a bad idea to use a 2-row core, 6 cylinder radiator to save weight? Or will I run into cooling issues? My 327 block is filled, and I'm using a Meziere electric pump with electric fan....
