Roadside Assistance
What's the best coverage for rv's? AAA, Good Sam or Family Motor Coach. Looking to get one after latest encounter with break down.

Re: Roadside Assistance
I compared the Good Sams against AAA about 3 years ago, when I stared towing with my RV.
On paper, they were very close. All depends on what all add on's and options you want. Good Sams was quite a bit cheaper, and I went that route. I have used them once for a flat, and they provided good service with no issues or questions. I liked that they coverd my wife and I, no matter what we were driving. Would also take care of the trailer. No questions. I have not compared cost and options recently. I am about up for renewal. Let us know what you find in your research. Good luck. Ken |

I was calling our service dept. to get me hooked up and the guy with the othe car in my stacker used his Good Sam card ,called told them the problem said we didn't want anything towed we wanted the belt changed . No problem be there in 100 minutes .I called them back told them the belt # Good Sam called back @ 95 min. to follow up . Soon came a truck changed the belt i asked what do we owe you he said he bill's Good Sam direct no charge to you . Wow , and it was on my pass. G.S. card to boot . i'm a believer !

Re: Roadside Assistance
AAA all the way. I got my dually and 24 enclosed 100 miles for free, the distance was 99 miles according to the tow truck GPS and that is what he used. The service in their stores is excellent as well if you use them to book travel and they give great discounts all over including NAPA.

Re: Roadside Assistance
In Aug I switched to the RV Plus , CAA(Canadian equivalent) for my pickup and 5th wheel travel trailer. I never asked about an issue while towing our car trailer.

Re: Roadside Assistance
Having limped home from the ASRA race in Epping a few weeks ago with my motorhome I'm pretty interested in this post. Good question and good feedback.

Re: Roadside Assistance
Just went to AAA , have RV Plus, Said would tow the RV but not the enclosed trailer . . If you tow a enclosed trailer with living quarters , would tow that and the truck , but not a trialer without livng quarters. May have to look into Good Sam.

Re: Roadside Assistance
Russ , can you give me a # to call and ask them the same questions that I asked my local AAA. They called 2 diff #'s and I talked too 2 diff supervisors and that is what they told me. TheAAA Premier booklet says the same thing as the AAA RV plus.
