Winter Projects
Anyone gonna do any new S/SS builds over the winter ?

Re: Winter Projects
I'm putting together my 67 El Camino for Stock/bracket racing. Initially dropping in a 250 to get it going while I build a 230. If I can't get it to run the index with the 230 I may do a 170 hp 283.

Re: Winter Projects
Started a few weeks ago on my 89 5.0 stang. I'll be building it slowly. First it will be raced locally in the summit bracket series at my home track, Rt66. As we improve our consistency and get at least a little bit under the index we'll turn our attention to running div 3 in M/S or L/S. I'm low-dollar so it will take a year or two before anyone see's me in stock.

Now I have the desire but no money. I should have bought all the parts right away when I had an income. My labor is free but there is not much I can do without the parts. |
Re: Winter Projects

Re: Winter Projects

Here is my project the day I picked it up back in March. It will replace the one that was destroyed may 2011 in a tornado. I hope to be able to finish it by spring as I am only lacking a steering rack, converter and a few other minor things. The biggest hold up for me is not enough time to continue bracket racing and work on this car at the same time. |
Re: Winter Projects
It's between a Liberty and a G-Force. I keep getting differing opinions. Need to do some more research to find the best one suited for my needs and wants.

Re: Winter Projects
Getting ready to resume construction on my 60 Corvette project. I sustained severe damage to my shop from hurricane Irene 8/2011. Durning the rebuild of over 500 sq ft of destruction I performed a few enhancements that allowed a lift and paint/body shop section to the shop. Almost ready to get on the Corvette's body and paint. Should have my hands on some sand paper by Thanksgiving. Photos of the project can be found on my profile...see albums...then click on (all albums) below the photo.

Re: Winter Projects
BWAHAHAHAHA!! Rob, LOVE your t-shirt!
I'm tired of saying "working on the mustang for NEXT year" so I'll just say building 2 new engines for the kids junior, a pit rig, finish the trailer, put a ceiling in the rec room downstairs, and.... the mustang. The more I look though, the more I want to change. Got a new fuel tank, parts for a 215hp crate 302, put the rollbar back in, get new fuel pump, 5 bolt hubs for the front (just picked up a set of draglites) want to change the rear arms and free up the rear suspension, new set of 90/10's for the front...oh man...it don't stop. And paint..NEEDS body/paint job...BAD...(didn't think decals would stay stuck to rust) |

Re: Winter Projects
I was hoping to get my 66 Nova done in time to get to the track this fall, but it just didn't happen. I'm wiring it right now, then comes interior, then some odds and ends and when the track opens in April, I plan to be there!
