Re: Need help
Vic,
Is this the generator in the coach? What make and model is the unit? Lew |
Re: Need help
Try disconecting the power source for a couple of minutes. This might reset the codes.

Re: Need help
If it's an Onan -
SERVICE CHECK FAULT—CODE NO. 3(A second-level fault occurred) Corrective Action: Check the second-level fault code by touching Stop. See what the second-level fault is. Lew |
Re: Need help
Could it be low on oil? Or not sitting level to where it thinks it low on oil?
|
Re: Need help
Vic,you must press and hold the switch on the generator to get the complete code.
The 3 or 33 code just tells you there are other codes present Matt Schurman just repaired my Onan for the same problem ,it would run fine and then after being shut off it would not crank over to restart. Had a code pertaining to the governer, altho it actually was a problem with the inverter section which is pretty much the brain of the generator. |
Re: Need help
Oil is good
It is ever a 3 or 33 |
Re: Need help
Tom is right. Hold the STOP button to get the secondary-fault code -
Here's a link to what you may find - http://www.alpinesocal.com/sitebuild...leshooting.pdf Keep us posted! Lew |
Re: Need help
When I hold the shop button the light stays on
|
Re: Need help
Vic ,you have to hold the stop side of the switch for about 10 seconds and then release it , then it will flash the secondary code.
|
Re: Need help
Tom
I hold it down for 30 seconds |
Re: Need help
Vic, when was the last time you changed the air filter on the Gen.? Something that simple caused mine to not start. Oh, BTW, the gen set code lite should blink, then pause and blink again. Read these as separate codes. Hope this helps........Don

Re: Need help
I had all kinds of problems with my Onan, it would run fine until it had run for a while, and was shut off. When trying to restart it would throw a code 34, and would have to get completely cold before it would restart. Turned out to be a weak fuel pump. Replaced fuel pump and it always starts now. Replaced fuel filters, fuel line, module. Good luck it can be a real pain.
