Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14th
Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is my pleasure to announce the Nitroplate Stock / SS Shootout presented by AutoMeter will be held on September 13th & 14th, 2013 once again at Numidia Dragway in Catawissa, Pa. We will make a few minor changes for the 2013 event, but will mostly run the same type of program as we did at last year’s event. Starting off on Thursday, September 12th will be parking from 10am till 10pm. For some of you who want to get parked early and head over to Knoebel’s you will be able to. Unfortunately I will not be there till late that night so Vinny Dimino or one of the crew members will be there to let you in. On Friday the 13th (Oohh) we will start the FREE Test and Tune around 10am, this will run till about 2pm. We will then groom the track and at 2:30 we will start the process of the Stock / SS Combo Race. I decided to bypass the CIC Race this year as it didn't seem to be very popular last year, but I must say it was a fun race to watch. Due to the mid-September date, I want to start the event a little earlier. Everyone will get 1 Time Run then into 1st round. I hope to be into the 3rd round by the time the Street Cars roll in for the Friday Night run. On Saturday the 14th we kick off the Nitroplate Stock / SS Shootout presented by AutoMeter at 10am. As the same as last year everyone will get 2 Time Runs beginning with Super Street, Super Comp, Stock, Super Gas & Super Stock. What will make this event even better for this year….A GUARANTEED $ 3,000.00 WINNERS PURSE FOR ALL CLASSES! Track owner Bob Dimino and Myself have agreed to make this a guaranteed winner’s purse so we can give back to the sportsman racer! Once the winner of Stock & Super Stock have been crowned I figured it would be cool to do a little "King of the Hill" Throw down between the 2 so we will run a race between both winners for some extra cash. Once the winner’s have been crowned we will invite all racers, friends & family over to the Donhauser’s for a FREE Chicken BBQ. On Sunday the 15th we will use as a Rain Date / Travel Day but, for anyone who wants to stay I'd be willing to throw together a race for you guys since I will be there organizing the Super Comp & Street Event. As far as rules go, I will be sitting down in the next few weeks with a well-known Stk/SS Guru to go over them with him. I can tell you this there will be NO HEADS-UP Runs and as in the previous events at Numidia everyone will run off their dial-in. If you would like to become a sponsor please e-mail me at Rekeister@aol or call me at 856-332-2851 2013 Tentative Schedule and Payouts: Friday Sept 13th - Free Test & Tune from 10 or 11 to 2 or 2:30pm Stk/SS Combo Race starting at 2:30 or 3 (1 TT then into 1st round) Comp Cams Shootout starting at 3 or 3:30 (1 TT then into 1st round) Saturday Sept 14th - 10am - Start Time runs for .90 Nationals / Stk/SS Race (Super Street/ Super Comp / Stock / Super Gas / Super Stock) 1or 2pm - 1st round for all classes 6-7pm - FREE BBQ Sunday Sept 15th - Rain Date / Travel Day or MASCA (Super Comp) and MASSA (Super Street) Race # 7 / Stk/SS Gamblers Race Entry: - $165 by June 1st - $180 by August 1st - $200 at the gate - $10 at the gate for crew members Payout Friday September 13th: Stk/SS Combo Event ($70 entry) Winner: $1,000 Runner-Up: $400 Semi-Finalist: $200 3rd Round Loser: $70 *based on 32 entries Saturday September 14th: Nitroplate Stock/Super Stock Shootout presented by Autometer Stock & Super Stock run separate) Winner: $3,000 (Guaranteed) Runner-Up: $1,500 Semi-Finalist: $600 4th Round Loser: $400 3rd Round Loser: $200 King of the Mountain Stock vs. Super Stock Winner Winner: $500 Runner-Up: $200 Sunday September 15th: Time-Permitting SG / Stk/ SS Shootout on Sunday ($70 entry - same structure as Saturday's races) Winner: $1,000 Runner-Up: $500 Semi-Finalist: $250 4th Round Loser: $150 3rd Round Loser: $80 *based on 32 entries per class |

The official Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout website is now active. Thanks to Jeff Serra over at Inmotion Solutions who did an awesome job on the site. You can view videos from last year's event along with payouts, etc. Jeff is currently working on the flyer and I'm working on the rules as we speak so look for something in the near future..

Just got word that Rob Jackson...AKA Robzneed4speed will be back for the 2013 event. Our plans are still in the works but, I'm hoping to have Rob down for both Friday and Saturday to do interviews with the Stock & Super Stock Drivers, do video of the Combo Race on Friday Night and the whole Nitroplate Stk/SS Shootout on Saturday!

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Well it's a new year and that only means 1 thing....time to get back to business! So without further delay I'd like to announce the addition of Ultimate Converter Concepts to our sponsors list! Lenny & Dawn out of the great state of NC (formally from up in this area) have signed on to become a sponsor of this great event!
We have also added Quickfuel Technology out of Bowling Green, Ky on as a sponsor for the Stock & Super Stock portion of this event. Quickfuel became a sponsor of the Mid Atlantic Super Comp Series last year and has expanded it's role to this event for 2013. Thanks to Phil and his crew over at Quick Fuel for all the support they have given the sportsman racer! Many more sponsor announcements to come shortly including the "Racers Appreciation Prizes" |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Rob, your video's are Awesome.
S/G Rob, what your doing for us S/SS racers are second to none. I'm just hoping that my daughter's Army function is Not the same weekend. Keep up the good work. Pistol Pete |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Thanks Pete!
I just hope the racers come and support this event. I know it's on top of the Charlotte National Event but, not many options were left in the bucket after all the Divisional, Open and Association Schedules were finalized. I'm very grateful to have a great group of sponsors who have come on board and believed in this event and have helped me out in every way. Trust me the tip of the Iceburg has just been broken and I have a lot more announcements hopefully to come in the next few months. Rob |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
As we all know last year we combined the .90 Nationals & Combo in the Hills events together for 1 big event held up at Numidia. For those on the Stock / Super Stock Side who personally didn't know him the .90 Nationals were re-named in April to the Ronnie "Uncle Buck" Memorial .90 Nationals in honor of George Donhausers long time crew chief Ronnie Harple who passed away from Pancreatic Cancer in April. Ronnie was a friend to all rather you ran a Stocker, .90 car, Pro Stock or a Jet Car. Uncle Buck always opened his arms up and invited you in for a beer or a plate of food. So in honor of "Uncle Buck", Ronnie's Brother "Moose" and the Harple Family will be giving the winner of Stock & Super Stock a brand new Webber Grill to carry on the joy of BBQing at the track just like "Uncle Buck" Used to do.

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Still working on that Pete. Should have an announcement in the next few weeks. Right now working hard on getting the sponsors and things together for this race and right now we have a good amount of them lined up for this race but, want to put the final touches on it before I announce it.

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
With this years event I decided to do away with the pre-entry raffle for prizes rather I took a page out of Pete Biondo's book for the Spring Flings and decided to do a "Racers Appreciation Performance Award". Pretty basic as I'm still working on Round # 6 right now but, should have that hopefully locked up by week's end. I'd like to Thank ATI, Autometer, Nitroplate, Crane Cams and Weisco for coming on board to be sponsors for this. I hope you the racers enjoy and it puts a little more meaning into each round. If no one hits these prizes all the winners / losers will be thrown into a hat and picked:
2013 “Racers Appreciation” Awards: Round # 1: ATI Gift Certificates to the 1st driver in each class with the best loosing package Round # 2: $100.00 Auto Meter Gift Certificate to first driver in each class who goes .000 on the tree (If no one goes .000 on the tree in the 2nd round all 2nd round winners will be thrown into a hat and a winner will be drawn. Round # 3: $100.00 Nitroplate Gift Certificate to the driver with the best winning package in Round # 3 (1 per class) Round #4: Crane Cams Gift Certificate to the driver in each class that goes “Dead-On” with a 0 in eliminations (If no one goes "dead-on" in the 4th round all 4th round winners will be thrown into a hat and a winner will be drawn). Round # 5: $500 Weisco Gift Certificate to the driver with the best loosing package in that round. 1 each for Stock & Super Stock More to come........ |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Just an FYI, anyone who would like to become a sponsor or put an added bonus up for the racers at this event please e-mail me at Rekeister@aol.com. Right now it is a guaranteed $3,000 to win ion both classes but, with more and more support the purse may go up.
As I've told a few of you already I may race in the Super Gas category but, I've grown up around drag racing since I was 6 months old and I enjoy everything about racing. I enjoy watching Stock & Super Stock and can usually be found in the staging lanes watching friends that run in these classes all the way till the final round. I enjoy doing these type of events and I went back to college to get my marketing degree to better myself in doing these type of events. I hope to see a lot of support and I'll be at select D-1 & ECSSA events this year, so stop by and say Hi...you can't miss the 128mph Super Gas 64 Nova Wagon! I received a few e-mails about pre-enteries. Looks like through all the hoopla of getting the race together I forgot to put an address down to send pre-enteries too if you choose.
Address is: Rob Keister 1887 N. Delsea Dr. #152 Vineland, NJ 08360 Entry: - $165 by June 1st - $180 by August 1st - $200 at the gate |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Here are the rules for this event. I took some of the idea's that Brian & Lee used in the Combo in the Hills event and with some help from Dave Ley I'm able to present these rules.
¼ mile event The correct class designation and minimum weight is to be on the car before the first time trial. There will be no co-drivers / no double entries. IHRA cars are welcome, if the car can crossover to NHRA (i.e. NHRA H/SA vs. IHRA H/SA) the IHRA car must meet NHRA rules and indexes. Random pairings for 1st round only 2nd round and on will go off of a ladder determined by reation time in the 1st round. If there is an un-even amount of cars for 1st round the best reaction time in the 2nd Qualifying Shot will get the bye-run . On the Bye-run you are required to take the tree, but can break the beam and back out. HEADS UP RUNS No Heads-up runs. All Cars must dial on or under the national index for their class Tech Committee has the right to inspect at any time (to be class legal) Lane Choice will be determined by coin flip or driver agreement. If the cars are un-even in the lanes we will pair from front to back with the car in the front getting the chosen lane. |

Dan,
Yes they will, I am not having tear-downs, heads-up runs or fuel checks at this race so you must dial the index or below it in eliminations. I kept the rules pretty much the same as Brian and Lee had it with a few little twerks. I know you can up to Numidia last year and ran both the CIC Race and Combo Race. Any questions feel free to e-mail me.. Rob Keister Rekeister@aol.com |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
I'd like to welcome Rich Aman to the Nitroplate Stock / Super Stock Shootout presented by Autometer. Rich is the 1st driver to sign up for this event and I look forward to putting on a great event for everyone in September.

Alright Boys and Girls...I'm proud to announce that Brodix Cylinder Heads has been added as a sponsor for the 2013 Nitroplate Stock/Super Stock Shootout presented by Autometer and .90 Nationals. Brodix will give a gift certificate to a random Stock / Super Stock / Super Gas / Super Comp / or Super Street racer. The Certificate will be drawn after the 2nd round on Saturday. This Certificate will go towards the purchase of their choice of either a set of Small Block Cylinder Heads or Big Block Cylinder Heads. Remember this is a gift certificate and will still cost money towards the purchase but it's still a pretty cool gift to get for attending this event. Thanks once again the Jennifer and her crew down in Arkansas for all the support!

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
So am i to assume that crate motor cars are not welcome, as they dont cross over to NHRA rules?
John Beasaw I/CM 1096 |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
John,
There was crate motors at the past 2 years events so there is no reason that they will not be allowed this year. I think Ian Hill brought his Crate Motor Car down from Canada last year. Like I said we are not doing tech or fuel checks and you must dial at or below you're designated index.....trying to make it as simple as possible, so come on down! RK |

It will be BYOB as I know everyone drinks a little bit of everything but, come and join with you're fellow racers and talk about everything. If there is enough interest I may put together a race for Sunday also since I will be there anyways and there is pretty much Test & Tune and a Super Comp & Street association race that day so there will be enough time!
I also just found some pictures from last years Combo in the Hills event that was swept by the Worner gang...enjoy! |

Happy Easter to all! Here is a quick update to the per-entry list so far for the .90 Nationals and Stk/SS Race. Remember you have till June 1st to jump on board for that $165.00 pre-entry fee before it goes up to $180.00. New for this year is that you may also pre-enter for the shootouts on Friday night in-case you want to knock it all out with one shot. Anyone who pre-enters and cannot make the event (breakage, unseen b-day party, etc) you have till September 9th to contact me and let me know that you cannot make it. If rain is in the forecast for one of the events you will be refunded the money in-case we do not get the event in (Once 1st round is in the books - no refunds). We have Sunday to play with in-case rain forces us too.
Stk / SS Race: Stock: 1. Rich Aman Also anyone who attending the Maple Grove Divisional Event or Englishtown National Event contact me at Rekeister@aol.com. I'm looking for a racer who would like to carry a Nitroplate Stk/SS Logo on their car for these races to promote the event. I'm willing to put a little cash towards your entry fees :) |

Looks like I got some pretty good feedback from some racers over the weekend at Atco regarding this event. I will once again be down at Atco this weekend for the East Coast Stock / SS Event as I will be running the Super Comp & Street Series. So stop on by and just say hi. Remember we have 1 month left to get in on that $165.00 pre-entry fee as the cutoff is June 1st. Here is also a pic of Ian Hill's Stocker that will be carrying the logo on the side of the car to draw some interest from the boys and girls up in the great white north. Thanks Ian for the pic!

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Just throwing out a friendly reminder that we are slowly approaching the 1st cut-off date for the Nitroplate Stock/SS Shootout at Numidia. The first cutoff date is June 1st and the amount is $165.00. I know a few people don't like to pre-enter in-case something comes up or the weather is ugly and that is totally understandable. After the June 1st cut-off the amount goes to $180.00 and the next cut-off for that is August 1st and then at the gate is $200.00.
I will be at Maple Grove this Sunday for the Lucas Oil Event to do some promoting and collect any entries just in case after that I will be at E-Town on just Thursday to watch the sportsman guys and girls at the Summernationals. Any questions feel free to call or e-mail! Rob Keister 856-332-2851 rekeister@aol.com |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Also I'd like to give a BIG THANK YOU to all these sponsors who have come on board for this great event. We've had a lot of returning sponsors a long with some new ones and I'm still working on adding a few more before we kick things off in a little more then 3 1/2 months. Without these sponsors it would not be possible to hold this event so next time when your shopping for a certain part or need something done think of the sponsors who support the sportsman racers:
Nitroplate Autometer Comp Cams Quickfuel Technology K&N Crane Cams ATI Weisco Pistons ACD Throttle Stops CD Custom Design GAS - Goldman Auto Specialties Jiffytite Ultimate Converter Concepts Imagine that Customs ISC Racers Tape Edelbrock Weaver's Racing Transmissions Ken Moses Race Transmissions California Car Covers Bushwacker Truck Gear DRE Engine Diapers Brodix Cylinder Heads Insinger Performance And Many More.... |

For all those who haven't been to Numidia since the Combo in the Hills event last June, once again Bob and his crew have put more money into the track for you - the racers! New Concrete Burnout boxes were installed in early May and the staging lanes on the tower side were extended all the way out to the concession stand is. Still awaiting to see the final product but, I'm sure it will be awesome. Bob has also extended the fence out on the cold side of the track (Where Stock / SS parked at the inaugural Combo Race) and cross our fingers we will be parking overflow there this year! Hope to see a lot of racers attend this event...remember Stock & Super Stock cars are separate this year and we will have 2 winners not just 1! So 1 Stocker and 1 Super Stocker will be carrying that nice check home! Here are some pics...

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Look for the "Fat Girl" to be flying the Nitroplate Stock / Super Stock logo at the E-Town National Event this weekend. Good friend Bobby Bender will be putting the logo on the car to do a little promoting and his wife Penny will be helping me out passing out some flyers. I will be up at E-Town on Thursday to take pics and watch some racing, unfortunately I have to work the other days!
Still holding strong at Rich Aman as the lone pre-entry! Rich is looking good at taking home at $3,000! |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Since I'll be at E-Town on Thursday to watch and chat anyone who would like to pre-enter you can reach me on my cell phone and I'll be glad to come over and chat.
Might be a good chance now also that I might be attending with Leb Valley or Epping or Both points meets now as the car I help out on in Top Dragster just won Maple Grove and we are 2nd in points. Rob Keister 856-332-2851 |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Remember boys & girls tomorrow is the last day for the 1st cut-off on the 1st pre-entry of $165.00! It maybe only a small amount but, hey $35.00 bucks is $35.00. If you want to pre-enter at Englishtown this weekend you can stop over and see Kelli Barbato. She is located over on the pro stock pit side right where the smaller grandstand starts. Silver S/G Camaro (Parked next to Barton's Camp and Gary Wolkwitz). If not you can mail it to me.

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
One of the bigger complaints I hear about when we go to Numidia is that there is no hotels close to the track for those of you who don't have the big fancy RV's in today's racing to stay at. Over the past few days I've struck a deal with Hampton Inn in Bloomsburg to offer a discounted rate to all the racers who are coming up for the Stock/SS Event who travel back and forth to the track. The hotel is about 12 miles from the track. You will have till August 25th to reserve a room at the special rate for this event. The phone number is 1-570-380-1020 and refer to the "90 Nationals" when you call to reserve - sorry couldn't throw all types of events at the girl on the phone. They will have 30 rooms set aside for us for the event.
Thanks to Stock Racer Jeanne Linke who gave me this idea to look into! Also I spoke with Rob Jackson - aka Robzneed4speed Videos's will once again be joining us up at Numidia on the 13th & 14th. Rob will spend the morning of the 13th (During T&T) to go around the pits and talk with the racers about their cars. He will then bunker down and shoot the Quickfuel Combo Shootout on Friday Night and then as he did last year Rob will do all the videoing for the Nitroplate Stock/SS Shooutot along with winners interviews like he did last year. |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Running in twelve different directions and missed the first deadline, but I'll get in before the next one, and am working on getting Terry to bring his car as well! Thanks for all your hard work.
