What would you like to see changed this year
Here it is IHRA<NHRA<ADRL what would you like to see changed this year?

Re: What would you like to see changed this year
I'd like to see qualifying done off the indexes instead of heads up. It would give the spectators something to watch. As they could root for the faster or slower car.
It would not take anymore time, because if I run a SS/AM car they still have to wait for me to get off the track before they can run the next pair. |
Re: What would you like to see changed this year
Art, i believe they are doing that in D4, but i agree they should do it all the time.

Re: What would you like to see changed this year
I would love for everyone to have a great year, be supportive and positive towards everyone (including NHRA).
Most of all enjoy what we have today and everyday. :D Life is short and the happiness of our life depends on the quality of our thoughts ! |
Re: What would you like to see changed this year
Management in all of them.

Re: What would you like to see changed this year
More HP on Cambria's COPO
|
Re: What would you like to see changed this year
Do away with the 1000' incremental times in Sportsman racing.
|
Re: What would you like to see changed this year
How about a year of no changes or "enhancements" so we can just enjoy racing?
|
Re: What would you like to see changed this year
Hmm, lets see...
More tracks built everywhere, but I know it won't happen... New management, can they be bought out... New rules in certain classes... Cheaper entrance fees & more money for payouts... I could go on... . |

Re: What would you like to see changed this year
Where to start? Have some basic changes to the AHFS. Have most of the late model cars in their own classes without hp adjustments, but remain in Stock with shoe polish for eliminations. Take 5% off all 2007 or older cars, maybe a little less on the LS1. Have Tuesday Tech post something useful. Have more people that own and race cars post on this forum. Get a $500,000 grant from our lustrous Pres. to study the exact temp that beer gets ice crystals in both cans and bottles. Have the Fiscal Cliff apply to all members of congress only except for the Pres who gets an ASFS (Automatic Salary Factoring System), I like the qualifying based on indexes, Have more new cars, Have more old cars, Have no rain allowed for National, Divisional, and National Opens, Have Woodrow healthy, Have no human body parts changed this year, Beat Slate (just once), Win a Points Race, Find the finish line (wherever that thing is), Find the starting line (more than once), and I have drifted toward the center line, so I will think of more later.

To make qualifying more interesting, pair the cars closely by index, in reverse order, slowest to fastest. The spectators will know that the cars will keep getting faster as the session progresses and they will want to stay in their seats to the end so they don't miss the most exciting cars. Also, post a bounty for low ET of each session and track the best time on the scoreboard. |
Re: What would you like to see changed this year
I doubt you will get people to line up according to their ET for qualifying. LOL

I would like to see them combine sticks and automatics, and run all the classes - no combos.

Re: What would you like to see changed this year
The tilt of the playing field (NHRA) and bring it back to level. I have not raced at IHRA or ADRL so I don't know what I would change if anything.

Re: What would you like to see changed this year
I would like to see the equipment manufactures start to support Stock/Super Stock classes like they should. Eliminate a must have proof factor for their Contigencies and eliminate the must purchase within the last year or two to be elgible for class money or the Eliminator money, the sport is very expensive to be in, and to require a racer to update all his equipment to be elgible to win contigency monies is way out of line. Conceivably you could win a National or Divisional an only receive the Nhra purse. The manufactures need to step up and pay us direct and not let NHRA control there sponsor funds.....just my 2 cents

Re: What would you like to see changed this year
I would like to see jeff Teuton live to be 106 and still be racing. For his seed to be used to birth another 100 like him.(artificially of course don't want to wear the old guy out) And for Bo Kenny to have his Amex card taken away from him.Me I would just like to race more and win something that would be a big change.
Finally however I would like to see IHRA bring back the Pros( and Top Stock) and the racing they had about 5 years ago when we had some of the most fun you could ever have at a track and the nationals were packed. |
Re: What would you like to see changed this year
I would like to see the seat belt expiration extended to more than its current two years.

Re: What would you like to see changed this year
I would like to see an overhaul of the NHRA structure. Get rid of the whole lot move them to Indy or someplace out of California. Put Pat from no-problem in as the head cheese. Find a way for the right people to pay for the insurance at nationals so the sportsmen don’t have to pay to cover the fuel cars being there. Get some tech people that are allowed to do their Job. Actually go by the rule book instead of changing the rules to meet what the cheaters have been doing. Do some work to the AHFS so it actually works. Tear down of cars before HP is given would be a good start. Also I would suspended anyone found complaining about so and so getting them HP. Since in my system before the car got HP it would have been torn down and found legal. So obviously if it was capable of going too fast so it needed adjusted. That would be a good start.

Re: What would you like to see changed this year
What would be the point of moving NHRA from California to Indy?
|
Re: What would you like to see changed this year
umm, let's count the ways:
lower cost of doing business Indy, racing Capitol Indy, home of flagship track central location so nationwide communication better (office hours) disappearing tracks in So Cal and...................the #1 reason............is.........hopefully taking the la la out of their decisions and back into the real world |

The cost of just about every thing is higher in California. |
Re: What would you like to see changed this year
The only one I would agree with is lower cost of doing business. The fact of California is losing drag strips does not have anything to do with how NHRA does business.
