Camaro COPO # 69 Saturday@Barrett-Jackson

On Saturday afternoon @ 2pm on the Speed channel the 2012 Camaro COPO convertible # 69 will be sold with the entire proceeds going to the Heart Association .This is the only COPO convert offered to the public - anyone venture a guess as to how much it will bring .

I've got a bet going with a friend and to win the total must go over 500k .When this started I was sure of a win - now not so much ...........

Sometimes the winner of a charity car sells it again, with all the procedes donated to the charity.

Re: Camaro COPO # 69 Saturday@Barrett-Jackson

Some real rich smart guy is gonna buy it for say $500,000 then take posession and resell it for say $300- $400,000 get both a $500,000 write off for donation to charity and another say $100,000-200,00 dollar loss on his income taxes for selling it for less than fair market value--- total write off of 600-700 thousand and recoups 300M back in actual money so it only cost him 100 -200 to but he got that huge writeoff !!!!

I'm sure Jack is right about the $$$

More like it, is who???

The way things are going Rick Hendrick is the likely buyer, in my opinion. Been busy buying all the other significant GM's.

 I'll be shocked if it brings less than $500,000. This looks like an awesome car and is going for a good cause. My bet is on Ron Pratt or Rick Hendrick as the buyer. Could be someone else, but these two seem to know when to step up for the right cause and the right cars. Just my two cents and is open for debate.

Just saw it, they interviewed Connoly. Saw Alan Patterson standing by the right front fender. Be interesting to see what it brings. Red with a black top. Tan top would look better. I may be biased. LOL

Rick bought a Corvette a friend of mine built last night for $270K. Maybe he figured he'd spent enough on charities already. The Corvette belonged to the CEO of GM, and the proceeds went to Habitat for Humanity.

Maybe I missed it,, but when they were describing the car before the bidding started, I don't remember anyone saying that this was not a street legal car, with no vin #. I hope the buyer realizes you can't legally drive it down the road, or license it.
