Re: sportsman oil downs
What happens when the Pro Mods hit some thing, the wall, car in the other lane? Is it any time cleanup trucks have to roll for parts and pieces?

Re: sportsman oil downs
I don' t know how much money they will actually steal from sportsman on this. It they apply it correctly, maybe it will work. I do know that at Joliet last year, there were several Top Dragsters lubricating the track like Alky Cars. One was even a diesel that pretty much wiped out the afternoon session because of all the oil it dumped.
The concern is for the application of any policies. If a racer has a problem, but gets off the track as quickly as possible and as most do, it should not trigger such a punitive response. |

Re: sportsman oil downs
I think all sportsman are allowed one credit per year. So I wouldn't get all upset.

Re: sportsman oil downs
its good to see this policy revisited-- however I personally do not feel that this is going to have much impact on the average sportsman racer----alcohol cars probably excepted--- the only time a sportsman seems to oil down the track is the RARE engine or transmission failure or a loose oil line of some sort--yes there are those that will still have an oil down then drive merrily the entire track length from starting line to finish line and then on to the last turnoff while the serious racer will pull over as soon as he realizes his situation -- ---I think that this will affect the TF/TFFC group for the most part---just my opinion

Re: sportsman oil downs
I agree, Bob. There are a lot more important things in life to get upset about. I don't think I can even remember the last time I had an oildown, let alone 2 in 1 year.

Re: sportsman oil downs
Okay lets look at how an insurance company would come up with rating this for coverage.
Top Alcohol 16 car field x 3 Qfl. runs = 48 runs Eliminations to Final = 30 runs Total Runs per event |
Re: sportsman oil downs
Okay lets look at how an insurance company would come up with rating this for coverage.
Top Alcohol 16 car field x 3 Qfl. runs = 48 runs Eliminations to Final = 30 runs Total Runs per event = 70 runs Super Stock 80 car field x 3 Qfl. runs =240 runs Eliminations to final = 160 runs Total Runs per event = 400 Runs So they would calculate the number of oil downs per run by category. I would look like super stock category would make almost 6 times as many passes than alcohol. So here is the correct way to tell who has the most oil downs an slows down the show!! or Drag Race We all know who the biggest leakers are does NHRA???? Maybe there insurance company should have a look at the numbers!!! I FEEL A INSURANCE INCREASE COMMING AGAIN!!!! |
