The aftermath of the Bertozzi crash
 

Anthony broke the tranny in his stocker at the rock.

at approx 4:20 Tuesday afternoon

They put a new tranny in and he was testing it on a airstrip by his race shop.
Good news, tranny works.
Bad news.
A twin engine plane was comming in for a landing at the same time and tried to land on top of the stocker, this did not work out so well.
Busted out the front and back windows in the stocker.
Spun it out and went through a ditch and into a round hay bale.
The exhaust set the hay on fire, anthony managed to get the car away from the fire but did get most of his hair singed off.
No burns but no hair either.
Bent the wheel on the plane but was able to come back around and land with no problem.
they arrested anthony and he is facing 11/29 in the county jail.
his bail has been set very high so maybe we could get a fund together to get him out

I have set up a fund to bail him out.

I saw a plane *almost* land on Jim Holland's GTO when he was about 300' downtrack at Beaver Springs. Jim locked it down hard, and the pilot pulled up at the last minute. Crazy stuff!

i talked to anthony late last night.
he called jim harrington to get his other stocker back while his 69 camaro was being repaired. after seeing the shape it was in, he deceided that the 69 that he crashed and burned was in better shape.

I think Hudlow had like a .013 package....Anthony was .006.

I heard Bertozzi was experimenting with a special trans-brake in his stocker. What I gather, it is a new device that causes the trans to self destruct through the finish line only during finals, and deposits $250 in quarters onto the track as it leaks fluid. Apparently when the remote GPS controlled throttle stop failed, the trans prematurely blew up and interferred with the oncoming aircraft.
