Other than the top two, I don't see anybody being exceptionally fast. Coyote CJ. That's to be expected. But 10.34 for an L-82 '77 Vette in G/SA? That's pretty exceptional and outstanding for what is now considered "old iron".
That should ad a pound or two!

I don't get it. Did Timothy Mattingly with a '77 'Vette in G/SA turn into Leonard Mattingly with a '00 Firebird in B/SA? Because I don't see a Timothy Mattingley with a '77 'Vette in G/SA anymore.

It was Tommy Mattingly (he's a good friend, we call him "Little Tommy") and I doubt he was even there, he's a Division 3 racer from up around Louisville KY. I'd bet it was a computer glitch. Or a typo.

Then I guess I should cancel that ebay bid on a '77 'Vette!

My opinion, the air will never be "too good", but the track temperature becomes the issue when too cold.

What Frank said. If you had a track that had an in ground heater you could run on a nice clear 20* day with 30.50+ baro! As long as you have an adequate amount of fuel it's going to keep going faster. However, as frank said usually track temp becomes the issue.

Chilly Track Delays Sunday Racing
By Larry Sullivan

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - 10:30 a.m. - Chilly overnight temperatures left a cold race track in their wake.
It's clear and sunny now, but the track was cold and slick at the scheduled 9 a.m. start time, warming slowly in the sunshine.

Race officials expect the track to be warm enough for safe racing in about fifteen minutes, almost two hours behind schedule.

When I saw 10.92 in F/SA by Terry Nagel,my first thought was that it was pretty fast in Gainesville.

My second thought was that the three speed transmission must have helped a bunch!
