I've been using Holeshot Wheels for many years. Wide variety of styles, bolt patterns as well as custom offsets and a beadlock option. They are 3-piece but they also have lighter 1-piece fronts. They are reasonably light, but you'll have to ask them for specific numbers. Small company that puts emphasis on quality & customer service.

If you're not a slave to the contingency stickers, look at Sander Engineering wheels.
They are extremly light and run very true

Bogarts on the drag pak.....vintage look

Monoquoqes/Bogarts fly-lite on the classic 70/71 challenger......1992 era set that didn't crack or split when I did the 90mph wall ride.....am getting at least a replacement wheel, great rims.

Centerlines Convo Pro on 92-6 dakota.......period correct look

Welds on the Gremlin....Look great on that car.

Currently Weld Prostars on the Lil red bracket truck returning to the track spring 2013, may go the fly-lite look.....Not sure.

Centerline Auto drag on the 72 superstocker project/bracket.....period correct look..

Eric

Interesting thread! I am still building my 67 El Camino. From a visual standpoint I love the American Torq-Thrust D's, but I plan to investigate wheels before I buy any. I've looked at Jeg's and Summit's websites - while they give many specs on wheels, I don't see weight listed. Maybe I should look at American's website. My second choice would be Rally Wheels - they're about 1/3 the price of the Torq-Thrusts. If I had a decent set I would even use stock Chevy steel wheels.

Still running Cragar Super Tricks for the nostalgia look, car's too slow to worry about $2,000.00 in wheels!

I agree with Myron, Holeshot Performance Wheels all the way around on the Stocker. The SS car that has been sitting for 25 years still has the polished Super Tricks on it! I just redid the fronts with SS bolts, rears are next. Jim

I had Weld draglites, but have since purchased Holeshot Sun Star 3-piece. In a few weeks I will order the rears.

I always liked the old Monocogue (now Bogarts) but plan on contacting Holeshot when I get my next set.

Maybe I've been in the dark for a while (ok, a long time, maybe forever) but what's with the anti-Weld sentiment? Chinese mfg or what?

Is the very expensive Weld/American Torque Thrust Pro the lightest wheel available?

I`ve run everything from stock steel to Centerline Auto Drags to Monocoques,my V 6 stuff runs the same. I`ve also never seen an ET difference in lighter wheels either. A lot of new cool looking wheels out there too!

Motor Wheel Flys

3 1/2's front ,8" s rear. 10's would be better on back but just unable to locate.

I'm pretty sure the Gibson Engineering front 15"x3.5" wheels are the lightest available @ 6.2#'s each. I just bought aluminum 16 point front lug nuts also. Super light! Contact Alex @ MoneyMaker racing for a set.

Champion wheels are a nice wheel, but they are some of the heavier ones available. I guess it depends on how weight conscious you are.

Some of the lighter wheels are the Holeshots. In 15 x 10, the Holelshot Sun Star I have is 11 lbs. The same size in a Weld Alumastar is 12 lbs and the old style M/T ET Drag just a bit over 12 lbs.

Re: What wheels do you run on your Stock or Super Stock car?

gents,

just a few clarifications on a few posts which might be misleading...:

- everything Weld Racing manufactures is built in good old Kansas City, MO (the new snow capital of the USA)... we do on occasion like to eat Chinese food, but that's about as foreign as we get...

- for my fellow Canadian -- you might want to check out the Weld Racing website (www.weldracing.com) to find out which company manufactures the American Racing Trackstar... you guessed it... it's all those Americans working at Weld Racing, eating Chinese food

- as to the original post -- we have lots of customers running RT-S wheels in a number of different categories, with great success. As the RT-S wheels are are available in multiple diameters, a number of racers are running a 15" rear and a 17" front, allowing them to not only fill the (front) wheelwell a little better, but accomodate the larger brake packages available on today's vehicles.

Re: What wheels do you run on your Stock or Super Stock car?

Prior to the sale of Weld a couple years ago, American Racing drag wheels were actually made by Sander. After the Weld sale, American Racing drag wheels were then manufactured by Weld Racing. Sander then began selling drag wheels under his company name. Thats why the wheels look basically the same. Either way, very nice looking and lightweight wheels.
