Record Setting time in Baytown?

Forecast Low low 40, high 60, 0-10% chance of rain Fri and Sat 0% sunday Now if we can get one of them 30.30 barometer, I bet I can get in the top half of the field. Who is going?

Glad I won't be there. Gainesville showed me how much trouble I could get in to.
In Valdosta next week, I'm praying for 80 degrees, hum 75%, and a bar in the mid 29's.

Art I know of two stick cars that are going to Valdosta to try to set records. Their hoping for prime conditions.

Well we will see whose prayers get answered. Let me warn you though things have broke mostly in my favor lately. LOL
Sometimes you're the winshield. Somtimes you're the bug.
I've been some kind of silica. LOL
Hoping I used all my bad luck up last spring.

why would you want to set a record? They don't print them in national dragtser any more or list index's. Tom

Well, it's getting better, low Friday 38, high 60 bright sunshine, 37 or Sat, high 60, need to set a record, start driving now for all you northern folks. Hell, I bet a bolt hole or a no bolt hole hemi SS/AH could set a record here.

I guess that means that we'll see a stable of those Southland Mopars all apart this weekend!

No, I can't run 10.39 in E like the Findel's can in Minnesota. They got the record. I can't get there. Maybe if I move some bolt holes though. Hmmmmmm Correction: James Findel holds the E/SA at 10.58 and Andrew Hill holds the D/SA record at 10.39; both old cars. Hmmmmmm something amis here. Those combos need hp. F/SA is at a minimum though and I can probably run the 11.35 minimum cause of the good air. With the bolt holes removed. I bet if Andrew Hill took the bolt holes out, he could run 9.99 in D/SA.

All the bolt holes are already gone, everything's just held in place with superglue.

The bolt holes on my heads are hollow, and the air is routed into the throttle body after it gets a dose of blue bottle.

I thought the beer was by the can, not the bottle?

Jeff Teuton 02-28-2013 08:49 AM

Re: Record Setting time in Baytown?

I don't share my beer, not even with my faithful motor Lucky. Today in Baytown, 41 degrees, 30.23 R Barometer, 37 Dew Point, Sunny, Tomorrow Better. Andrew, son, blue bottle does not refer to beer bottle. I worry about you.

That is fast regardless of the DA - the best we have done is 9.13 at Bakersfield a few weeks ago

I think one went 9.01 at the Dutch last year

Huge congrats guys - into the eights in the morning?

Ron

Re: Record Setting time in Baytown?

Correct Ron, Joe Gabarine went 9.01 last year at the dutch. The air was decent, but not killer.

Look for a feww changes. Left lane had issues. We were one. They remove them. I think a vsa went 1.03 60'. we went 1.13 on the rear wheels on the duster and ran 9.77 which would need a saturn rocket. at 7.20 it is 41 temp, 30.23, 70% and falling,-1241 da, bright sun

garbarineracing 03-02-2013 10:42 AM

Re: Record Setting time in Baytown?

That's correct. We did go 9.01 at the Dutch last year. Still had the two-speed in the car and had a few minor issues on that run. Looking forward to getting out this year.

Today they are running into a 20 mph headwind, tomorrow the wind will be out of the south 15 mph. If they set any records today that will be very very impressive.
