Still fast

I see the V10 car that punished the index at Belle Rose was #2 qualifier at the D1 meet behind Barton. I also saw it in the 8 second zone, running in AA/SA. Has anyone run one of these officially in the 8 second zone before? (at a NHRA meet).

This must be the quickest one around. If a combo gets instant 1.20 under hp like this one, are they exempt from review in the same period?

Just curious. Anyone know?

I do believe that it's the first V10 in the 8 second range. To say its the fastest around, well I'm not going to say that's 100% correct. We have been 9.02 with the original combination, meaning a power glide.

I have a feeling there will be a few of them in that range but I guess we will see who will be the farthest in the 8.

All I'm gonna say is be ready for the Southland Slug!! Lol

Sounds like a good battle for Indy!

What about the review period? Is it possible to get hit with instant HP and still trigger a review in the same period?

James,
You can get instant HP more than once in the same review period. You can also trigger a review.

James, yes sorry about that but any time a car goes 1.20 under its automatic HP. I believe triggers are for averages, I believe the instant HP runs will go in with the triggers for the average. I also think you get so many triggers before an automatic review is done.

Please correct me if I'm not correct, I'm not 100%.

I understand that also. What I meant and didn't do a good job asking is about the review.

For example, the V10 car got instant hp. Now if that combo has goes more than a second under twice more this review period, does it get another review for potential hp at the end of June or is it not eligible for review. ( not counting any -1.20 hits)

No, not on the same violation. Bob is correct but there must be another violation by the same combo. Jim

Indy should be fun this year! With the different shoot outs(A/S, B/S, and the super car classes) and a few new rule changes, should be loaded with fast cars.

It would be really cool if they could come up with an old school car shoot out for stock! Say 1975 and older cars!

The way it works with the instant hit is.
All prior runs by the combo/class in the period before the hit are trashed.
All runs after the hit (tuesday) count towards the next review.
This I know is correct.

How many shoot outs we got this year James? Time to get goin. I need to steal a clean can from Jegs again for the beer. That worked well. Maybe this year they will fill it with beer.

Hey Jeff: planning on A stick and A/SA again at Indy! Always a good time! Thanks for being such a great host! Maybe we can get Jeggie to cough up 2 cans this year!

I agree -

We went 9.12 out here in the west with our 2spd at our old BB weight (3550 -1400 DA) - I am pretty sure we have an 8 second run in our car in AA - we could use some "good air" like you all get back there but we will "git ur dun" without it.

No matter what the weather - it was a fast run - go get the Fords,,,

When cars are rated that soft it will take more than one hit to "ruin" them.

Good Air? I know the track has been closed a long time. But Fremont used to be the fastest track in the country. Faster than Suffolk, Cecil County, Atco, etc. Do you think a little of that air might move in to the tracks that are open now?

NO

Bakersfield is no Freemont where we ran 9.12

Our two "good" tracks are Pomona and Sonoma but they never see a 30.0 barometer - Hell - Freemont use to be 31.3 sometimes.

We will "git ur dun" no matter what the weather but I have to say Andy is more focused on track and finishing his engineering degree right now. I think winning a race is more important than going ultimate fast or being the fastest - no reward for that.

Ron
