"Live" from Indy divisional 2013
We are sitting here in line probably 30 or more rigs in front of us. We got here about 1 am. They are lined up almost to the road at the Main Gate now.
We left before dark last night and saw about 30 or so deer as we went up I-24 and I-57. Then after dark about 9:30 we hit the deer that we didn't see until it was too late. Larry put on the brakes, but was probably still going 55 when we hit it. We got lucky as it only messed up the plastic bumper cover. But it just missed the transmission oil cooler! It is 36 degrees now, going up to 62 today and bright and sunny! Friday is looking good --65. Then Sat and Sun up to 70. Just a little chance of rain on Sat. Well more later. |

Also be mindful that the Cops are out thick on the Interstate for those that are still traveling. Don't be in a rush, the Race track will still be there when you get there. ;) Safe travels to all.

I think a nice red would be fine with venison! But I think I will have burgers instead!
We are in and parked and boy is it gooky in here! We are where the hemi cars park for the Nationals on the one little strip of rock that was put in last year, I think. The rock is even soft! Everyone is getting just on the edges. Good thing is the sun is shining and hopefully drying this all out a little. |

Lots of people still arriving. It has been a beautiful, sunny day, but cold and windy. The wind is supposed to shift directions and warm up tomorrow. Test n tune is going on. Continuing until 8 tonight.

It's really, really fast. It was right at 0' when I got back from the first run. Barometer was 29.42, temp 48 degrees, humidity around 60%. Little but of a tailwind, too.

90 cars made the first run in Stock. It is pretty fast. We ran about the same as we did in St. Louis a couple of weeks ago.

Rolled out at 5am this morning and was able to get here in time to get through tech, swap in some fresh fuel, and get to the lanes just in time to make the first session. First quarter-mile pass on the fresh motor, and really haven't had a chance to do any tuning. Rollout's nice and tight -- guessing it's a fiber optic Compulink. Was very happy with a .002 off the trailer and a 10.477 @ 126 mph, a good three tenths quicker than Columbus last summer. Now to tinker!

There were lots of red-lights today, so I guess it is pretty tight!
We are done for the day except for clean-up runs. I guess they are doing clean-ups. We had a little problem 2nd run, so we didn't get a good run. Don't you love Stockers going 150+ mph?? Drew Skillman went 155 on his first run and Chris Holbrook went 158 on his 2nd run! It has gotten a little overcast this afternoon. They are calling for possible a little rain tomorrow and tomorrow night. Hopefully it won't amount to much. Oh, Mr. Bunkster, I loved the "Possum" song! Out in the country where we live, we could probably have possum every night! |

Yup, definitely tight. Dropped 3 psi in the fronts, and was .001 second pass. Good excuse to put my tall front tires on again finally, should pull things back into a less risky high teen range. Big fronts have been in storage for almost a year, so I did a little cleaning and polishing of the wheels and the rest of the car (AFTER we were done for the day... makes all kinds of sense, huh?)
Tech, registration, and the event as a whole has been smooth. The day turned into gorgeous t-shirt weather this afternoon. Wind was a little up and down, but tail to crosstail pretty consistently when it was blowing. Got to catch up with several friends that were just out speckletating today, some fellow racers that I hadn't seen in awhile, and meet some new friends. Went out to Cheddars this evening with the Hellenberg/Kyle group and had an excellent meal with super quick service. Time to clean up the driver and kick back to get rested up for the real work tomorrow. |

It is 7:30 and Stock is on stand-by. Sun is up and it is 48 degrees. It is supposed to start with some showers by 4 this afternoon. Stock, super stock, super gas and super comp are all supposed to run Round 1 this evening, so I hope the rain holds off at least til after we get that round in. Then tonight more rain is forecast with showers again tomorrow.
I am going to try to get some pictures after we run this morning. Last night we had a pretty good pot of chili here in our pits. Had lots of fun with our old and new friends that came over and joined us. Well, more later. |

We had 106 stockers this morning. No tail wind today and most slowed down a couple. The sun is shining now and super stock is running.

Sounds like stock had a good turn out for first round, how many superstock are there ? Sure hope the weather goes around you guys , its cloudy here in cincinnati good luck to all.
