Prayers for Flash
Flash, the longtime NHRA and Div.2 staging man was found in his hotel room in Atlanta Sunday morning suffering from a stroke. He is on life support. Please say a prayer for him.

Re: Prayers for Flash
Very well said Jim!
I saw Flash last year for the first time in probably fifteen years and while the Cadillac may have changed, he was the still the same personality. Glad I got to see and talk with him then... RIP buddy... :(... |

Re: Prayers for Flash
From Mike Crutchfield, D2 Rep:
It saddens me to have to tell you one of our Division 2 family has past away. (Flash) Gordon Jones a member of our Division 2 Team was airlifted to Atlanta hospital over the weekend after he was found in his room unconscious from what appeared to be a stroke. Flash has been with NHRA D2 for several years and would try to accommodate everyone with the best parking spot available. He also was very good at getting cars paired up and ready for racing. . |
Re: Prayers for Flash
Thats a terrible shame, he was a good one ! RIP Flash !

Re: Prayers for Flash
In the early 90s Gatornationals, we would leave the track on a Friday nite and drive to Daytona to party with the spring breakers. He would come to New Orleans and party with us and I would have to drive his 67 caddie convertible to Houston because he was hung over.
He lived for today and he damned tomorrow. He died way too young. He will be missed. Greg |
Re: Prayers for Flash
Sorry to hear this. Was Flash at the Atlanta race this past weekend? I'm not sure who he is.

Re: Prayers for Flash

Re: Prayers for Flash
Yes Darrin, he was there. He normally works the parking and pairing in the back of the lanes. But I wasn't there to know what he was doing.

Re: Prayers for Flash
He was wearing a white hat when I saw him this weekend. He was standing at the pit gate when I got there thursday morning. I only met him that one time. He seemed like a really nice guy.

Re: Prayers for Flash
This is really sad news. Making everyone happy is impossible at the race track, but Flash came as close as anyone ever has.
Not only was he very good at his job. but he was famous to us as the guy who knew where to eat. It didn't matter which track it was, he always knew of the hole in the wall with great food. He will be missed and long remembered. |
