Buckeye SS/Stk Combo 2 dayer Edgewater/Tri-State 6-22-23
 

This weekend is the weekend for our second and third races of the season.
The first race will be at Edgewater Sports Park in Cleves,OH (Cincinatti)on Sat June 22nd.The gates open at @2:00 pm and eliminations will be at 7:00pm. You will pay $100 at the gate and an additional $5 gate fee for a total of $105.Crewpersons and spectators will be charged accordingly.
The second race will be at Tri State Dragway in Hamilton , OH (Cincinatti) on Sunday June 23rd. The gates will open by 9:30am and time trials at 10:00.Eliminations usually start around 1:00pm. As at Edgewater, you will pay $100 entry at the gate as well as a$5 gate fee for a total of $105. Spectator and crewmember fees will be charged accordingly as well.
I spoke to Pat Louden at Tri State today about parking in the holding lot on Sat. night and she said that that is fine. They will be holding test & tune until 9:00 so you can park in the holding lot. After 9:00 the main gate out at the road will be closed but not locked. You can open the gate to park in the holding lot but MAKE SURE TO CLOSE IT BACK UP AFTER YOU GET THRU. No one will be allowed entry into the track for the Sunday race until Sunday morning. There is plenty of room in the holding lot out front of the track for everyone that needs to.
I also have a call in to Dick at Edgewater to see if racers can stay there overnight. He does not allow racers to stay overnight.
The 2nd and 3rd race of the Buckeye Stock/SuperStock Drag Racing Series should be a really fun weekend. These tracks are about 15 miles apart so it's a great opportunity to race both events and tow to the area once.

With the back to back events this coming weekend at Edgewater and Tri State Dave Layer of Heads Up Cylinder Heads will pay a $200 bonus if a racer wins both Edgewater and Tri State race events.
Called the Heads Up Double Up Bonus, it will be paid a cash payout. Heads Up Cylinder Heads, in Dayton, OH, has been in business for well over 35 years. They continue to provide state of the art cylinder heads for many of the top Super Stock and Stock racers in the country as well as many other forms of racing.
This is just another reason to come race the Buckeye Stock/SuperStock Drag Racing Series races this weekend June 22nd at Edgewater Sports Park and Tri State Dragway on June 23rd.

What is the 5 dollar gate fee about. Isn't 100 enough for a grand ? If we run top et also do we still have to pay a gate fee. Does this only apply to the combo?? Normally there is no gate fee at either track.

Phil,
The $5 is what the tracks make to host this race for our series. Not all of the tracks do this depending what they use us for. At National Trail and a couple of other tracks, they use our series ,at times, as a draw as part of a special event. No gate fee is charged. At these two tracks this is what they make(profit) from us being there. I believe it is more than fair. Example,If we draw 30 cars they make $150.Can't rent a track for that!!!

Well, a very good afternoon to you ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Edgewater Motorsports Park. After a very brief tiny sprinkle early on, racing action has continued unabated since. We'll be cruising at an altitude of about 2615' DA, with temps swinging from the low 80's on up depending on the inclination of cloud cover at any given moment. 66% humidity, 29.50 baro.

I chattered the tires a little on the first hit, but made a shock and tire pressure adjustment for the next run. .018 first lick at the tree though, so we've got a starting point. I bought some fuel last week that the car really doesn't like, so I'm hoping to run it out this weekend and get some performance back.

Pretty good turnout, prolly 28-30 S/SS cars. Thanks to the Ross family for organizing this series and to Nitro Joe for keeping everyone square and rolling right along.

that's a good turnout. I am sidelined for a little while till I get new brakes put on the trailer.

Old school E/S car, although currently just a bracket car. He's working on a stocker motor as time and money allows. Tons of stick cars there this weekend with the UMTRA circuit Street Stick and Quick Stick classes.

Congrats Kenny Friedman on your win Sunday at tri state. That's two years in a row for Johnny's garage. Big thanks to Kenny and Dennis for letting me drive their cars. It's cool to have them races so close to home.

Phil,
You guys gave Nitro Joe a headache trying to keep up with you all over a two day period switching cars back and fourth and not changing numbers with the cars!!! Joe showed me notes he kept to try and use them to keep points straight.Thanks to all of you for the support.

Jeff we wasn't competing for points. We are just supporting the series. You should try and keep up with helmets and jackets. Lol

Can you post the elimination results for these races? We had to leave out Saturday Night before the finals but it was very cool seeing S/SS cars back at E20. I hope you guys make it back next year and hopefully I'll be there racing with you all.


Also I would like to give a shout out to the owner of the big Caddy. Evidently my boy was horse playing with a friend of his and busted up his knee pretty good and the owner of the Caddy gave my boy a band aid to button him up. Sorry I didn't get by to thank you in person.
