"Aug 9th is the race #3 at Pacific Raceways. This races is the weekend between the National event and the double header Div 6 race also at Pacific raceway. If you need a place to store your stuff for this race PM me and we should be able to find you a place. The last race we all pitched in $20 to increase the pay out. We were thinking the same lines but $100 for pay out. Most of the people we have talked to were ok with this. There is still $40 for track entry fee. We hope to draw allot of people to this race hopefully over 32 cars which would make a good pay out. If you can help with some sponsorship with this race PM me, anything for prizes. Please spread the word about this race for anybody that is coming from out of town or Division. Please let fans and specters know also these are the same cars that will be at the Nationals and divisional they can see for a fraction of the price and a one night race not all weekend. We are talking some nationally ranked drivers World Champ Brad Burton, Jody Lang and Mark Faul have all raced with us. The first 2 races were $6 to spectate this one should be the same. That's allot cheaper than a nhra race. So friends and family that don't come to nhra because of the price be sure to tell them about this race. More to come when we get closer. I think the potential for an awesome event is this one on Aug. 9th. With the National event before and the Divisional after should be a very high car count. Depending on each racer's travel and personal schedules car count could be as high as 35 or more. I hope the weather is cooperative to allow good times by all and very quick racing. There is a road race event that day also, so hope we all get in on time. Missed seeing you at the National Open at Bremerton last weekend. HOT weather, but great racing anyway. I believe 19 cars were there for the stock/super stock combo. On Saturday it was Mary Ann Method winning w/ Dave Barcelon r/u. Sunday Jim Storms was winner w/ Bill Edgeworth r/u. I was there both days helping a friend with his pro bracket car. Racing didn't go as planned, but was a great weekend anyway. Since I was involved with a car, didn't get to see as much of the combo as normal, but still could watch most of the close racing from our pit area. We we're pitted along the return road, so could watch the cars race easily. Yes, I am planning on being at Pacific on the 9th. Looking forward to the action.

Dang it !!!!!!!!! I can not make this one, I have a Daughter getting married that evening ..... I will check in to see how thinks are going as the evening go's on !!!!!!!!!!!!! Any truth to the rumor of some more "combo" races over at Bremerton Raceway ?

Talked to Barb from Bremerton this morning,,, and she said that she was up for it, if someone wants to contact her. She said she could possibly do one still this season. Now the ball is in your court,,, so contact her and see what can develop. Good luck, racers. I hope it works out for you all.

:rolleyes: I thought that things were in place for this to happen at Bremerton - my bad. Must be old age setting in - or something. This could be another great venue for this type of race. Hope James Boyce or Jim Storms sees this and keeps it going.

:rolleyes: Yes we do, but I like to be at the water box for a close up of the action. Hope the racing is awesome at Woodburn. The weather looks to be HOT. How is the recruiting going for the Aug. 9th combo at Pacific?? Hope to hear some updates soon.

At the national this weekend there was talk about the entry fee for the race. We don’t want to price anybody out and some people did want to come and beat up there cars if the purse was low. So we are going to try and please everybody hopefully. The track entry is $40 we have no control over this, it is higher than the brackets because they are prepping the track better for us and it shows nobody has spun or complained about track prep. Then instead of a $100 we decided on $60 for the Purse money. Our main goal is to show there is interest in this kind of racing to the track and give an alternate to the 3 day divisional races that can pay good and be one day. We know Fridays are tuff for people to come but that is what we got this year. With a big turn out at this race could say allot for next year schedule. So come show some class support this Friday gates open around 4:00 first hit at 5:30 Two passes then 1st round No AHFS. Here is a list of people I know are going to be there.

:D Hi Jim. Thanks for updating the info for this event. I will be there with my truck and tow strap. I hope no one needs it, but it's available if needed. Is it possible for everyone involved in the combo to pit near each other? Just thinking. Anyway, see you guys Friday - the weather looks very good for this event.

Sorry I forgot about the guy that took me out 1st round and Shawn who was first on this thread and told me he was coming at Mission, Who's going #1 I know both of you could do it anywhere. Brian your son shoeing one of your cars and which one. That gives us 19 so far and I have forgot about others the list start at lunch today. Terry Johnson broke in the 1st round probably wont be there with a car.

Ok Toby said he couldnt make the race. I will try and post as we go but time is short during quailfing and racing I dont know how Toby does it all, my hats off to him. Will post the next morning like last time a q sheet and how the race went down on a ladder. May post some quick stuff from my phone during the race just to keep Toby and Kelly updated the best I can. Hopefully I wont have time because i am going rounds. 23 cars and counting I know Norm Weber is going to try and make it, the wagon of steel boys are trying for a second car and another car of Brian Weber being put together to try and make it. :D Since this was the third race of the series, I have to say I think it was the best. Several new faces and lots of good close racing. A few wins decided by redlights, but that happens in any event. The weather was great and the track prep, from what I observed, was excellent. Final count was 26 cars, biggest yet. I hope Jim and company can get more events at Pacific and maybe other tracks in the area. Looking forward to what can happen next year, the potential is unlimited. Jim Storms and I even talked a little about an event as early as April next year. How cool would that be??? I remember the track being open so early, in the past, that guys would come to Pacific and make tune up runs before the Winternationals. Anyway, had a great time and looking forward to the future of Stock Super/Stock Combos in the Great Northwest.
