With all the financial & ownership turmoil earlier this year that led to the cancellation of the May race, I supposed these guys are fortunate to have a 2013 divisional, period. However, I suspect we'll see a disappointing car count all 100% due to the summer heat. Besides the human body, its just tough on everything and takes all the fun out of going.

Good Luck to you folks who decide to "tough it out"! Maybe a cool front will sneak in and give you some relief.

I only live 20 minutes away, and I believe I am going to pass on this one. Texas heat can be brutal this time of year.

We're only an hour away and this was going to be our first class race but we won't make it. We've been busting our butt this summer to get the car together but the new rear wheels aren't clearing. Going to have to order new spindles. To be honest, I'm not as disappointed as I thought I'd be because I'm not interested in sitting in the sun for 3 days. Going to be a cooker!

Having to work for a living, and the rescheule killed me... I had calendar blocked early in the year for original date, but could not move work trip for this weekend. Might as well put mine up on blocks it seems like. LOL.

Good luck to everyone going, and drink lots of Gatorade!

I would be racing somewhere in the heat anyway so I guess we'll hit up Crandall. Should push the start time back a little saturday and try to run both races saturday night when it's cooler.

Re: hot as hell div.race crandell

Hey Gals & Guys,

I will be there unless some critical emergency arises that prevents me from attending! This track has had it's challenges scheduling this event, but the track officials and IHRA personnel will be there from start to finish. The starting line crew will be in the elements all day for your racing pleasure. Our support is vital to our sport and a tracks survival. This facility is first class.. and we cannot let it slip thru our fingers. If one day we do not have a place to race all we have to do is look in the mirror and we will know whose fault it was or wasn't. We did not fall in love with an indoor sport with a controlled environment.

Hope to see you there.
PETE

I will take my girls to Florida that weekend just in time for the impending hurricane and riots.

Mr Peery
You are correct with all you said. I have raced at a lot of tracks around the country (not as many as you ) and we do have a really nice track here close that we need to support. I really wise I could be there.
I am trying to bracket race there some just to support them.
Good luck this weekend.
Now as far as keeping Kyle in check... That is a whole different story! :)

Good luck to all.

Ken

Pete is absolutely correct. The heat is what it is and will always be a factor in Texas. Man up and load up. There is such a thing called preparation so do what's neccessary to cool off and let's have a great time. Otherwise these events WILL GO AWAY.

It is easy for me to say since my car is not ready, but I agree 100%.
