All I will say is we had a diverse field of cars with uncle Roy leading the way. We had a blast and every racer left happy including Charlie Copper who won . I could not stay do to vaction plans . Thanks to XDRL and Royce and Jason Miller and the staff of MIR for giving us a good track and race.

Re: 5.39 @ 129mph!!

i think they're cool as they come.

I would have loved to be involved in super stock racing from 1958 to 1964...those were awesome years, all the books, the stories...there never seemed to be any fighting...the big guns of those days probabley hung around after each race passing each other secrets, and signing "coom-by-yaa" around the fire cooking smores togehter! Just think Strickler and the Grump...wow to be there....not like now, no sir. We have cars that cost double what the dealer sells the general public the same bodied cars for, guys taking these high hp monsters from the dealers just to disassemble the engines to make them faster....crazy talk i tell you, nothing like the beginnings of super stock......

Really?

I so would flip my 1966 Hemi Belvedere, 68 Camaro stocker, 2002 super stocker in exchange for one 2012-2014 Copo. I don't care what will happen to their indexes after Indy.....this is 1962 all over again, very exciting to watch and hear about, its pretty much all i search you tube for! Bogus hp ratings are only bogus because no ones beaten them up yet. Without each of the big 3's new cars having the capability to 1+ under. how would they sell cars? It'd be like, "sure, lets buy a $100k + car that runs .2 under so we can thrash for 5-6 years to make them work????? The COPOs Stangs and Challegers would be show pieces in private collections and nuthin more.

Sign me up i want a COPO real bad, i am just a hundred grand short.....
a 427 or 396 4 speed Super stock combo would be my choice....or throw my 327 pro trans combo in one for a gt combo....i am not known for my love of Fords...but i left my drool on the twin turbo car at last years PRI show

...mmmmm smores!!!
LOL

Ian
