Good morning - And brrrrrrrr -- last night we got a taste of what's in our future - cold ! ! Not sure just how cold but its a brisk 49 degrees at this moment and this reporter can tell you for sure he's in shock coming from the temps we had all last week in Indy .Last night nary a generator was running but furnaces were putting out plenty of BTU's all across the pits .
Racing ? Yeah , we'll get around to it this morning but this is Etown where they don't start engines till 10 am and even tech won't open up for an hour or so - and you must tow them in. And for those who are following - yes , I had my biscotti and tea this morning .And if it matters the Sun is coming up very brite with only a few clouds showing . BTW, if you're coming down RT18 south Raceway gas has the best prices for gas and diesel . |
Re: Live from Englishtown, NJ-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Jack,
Good luck this weekend. Looks like the cars will be running fast, and you'll be saving $$ on diesel fuel for the generator. What will Matt Shurman do with his spare time if he doesn't have a bunch of generators to fix between rounds? Keep up the great performance from last weekend. You were on fire at Indy. Regards, scott |
Re: Live from Englishtown, NJ-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
If the current weather at 9:00 is any indication , S/SS is going to be very fast !
Current conditions are ,30.17" bar. 61.6 degrees ,55%rh , .304 vapor pressure,45 gr moisture ,adjusted altitude of 99 feet ,and a density altitude of 175 feet. Just might see a few cars in the record lane this morning . |

We just finished with stocks first qualifying and super street is running now, Super Stock is 4th out after super comp which have been called to the lanes.
Lots of lifting going this morning, the air is good and some are not taking chances on getting hp. I saw Jack get towed off the track, did not see what happen, I was told he went into a big wheelstand and came down hard. When I get more info I will post it. Here a few more shots in the staging lanes. I see Pete Biondo is back with his 69 Camaro. he ran very well, 10.36 at 110mph in B/SA trim. I have two cool in car cams and will try to edited and post before they call us back to the lanes. |
Re: Live from Englishtown, NJ-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
My mistake on Jack Matyas, he broke a trans.
This in car cam is Don Fezell in his 08 Cobra Jet. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7x2bI3-rjQ&feature=c4-overview&list=UUIPkN6w3aT8XGT1a4QTqU6g"]Cobra Jet Mustang 2008 Don Fezell Englishtown NJ 2013 Div 1 - YouTube[/ame] |

Sure things, love doing it.
Stock is done with our 2nd qualifying run and Super Stock is coming up soon. Here are some random photos, no rime or reason, just snapping pictures when I can. I talked to Jack and he said another trans is coming so he should be back in the program for tomorrow. The in car cam is Katie Sepanek in her '72 I/SA Chevelle. Re: Live from Englishtown, NJ-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Very nice paint job on the Huntzberry Camaro,,, I wonder who did it? It reminds me of a Travis Hess masterpiece,, but I want to make sure to give credit to whom its due.

Danny, I think he did, but not sure, I will find out.
Here are so more random photos. I had another in car cam, but for some reason it did not record. I will try for two Super Stocks tomorrow and another stocker. Stock and Super Stock are done for the day. Super Gas, Comp and the top class's are left. Going out for dinner, if I get any more info our pics I will sure to post them later. |

As you can see from the first photo Jack had to be towed off the track. I talk to Jack tonight and he said he would be ready for the tomorrow's qualifying shot.
The rest of the photos were shot by a good friend, have more so stay tuned. |

Good morning - For many yesterday was what they wanted all season - great air and superb traction .Plenty of smiles all around the Stock/SS pits except for those bitten by breakage who include myself .Just ask JC Beatti whose ATI backed entry made a record setting pass of -1.25 to put him on the top of the heap with his Camaro COPO in S/S.Or Barry Parker who took his G/SA '74 Corvette to the top of the Stock leaderboard with a -1.04 run .Trust me they are happy going into today's final quaifier .Then later today its final elininations with another great racing day with the weather just perfect for both racers and fans .
As for me - well all I can do thank those who helped me yesterday - it was a hard fought parts battle in trying to get me back racing but after breaking a transmission ( see pics below ) but in the end I just couldn't come up with enough pieces to put the Flash Camaro back together even after two trips back to Pennsylvania yesterday .I'm not throwing in the towel just yet but it doesn't look good . Back a little later with this mornings action .............. |

Stock just finished up with the 3 qualifying run. The air was a about 4 to 5 slower than yesterday, with a 4-5 mph head wind.
Its still a great day to race with temps going up to the lower 80's. Here are some great actions shots that John DiBartolomeo from Drag Racing Action Magazine www.dragracingaction.com I am editing a very cool in car cam from Mike Letellier in his 2012 BB/SA COPO, it should be up soon. Jack did get down the track and made a very good pass, I believe he went a 9.61 in CC/SA. More later.... |
Re: Live from Englishtown, NJ-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Mike Letellier went in the low 9.40's at 140 I believe.

SuperStock finished their final qualifier before eliminations - the track is terrific but the fantasy air is pretty much gone for the moment as most slowed .04 to .06 from yesterday .
Stock was to have its first round @3:30 but we're more than an hour behind already and they are to have at least two rounds today as rain is in the forecast for tomorrow ...... |
