Re: Snake & Mongoose Movie
I think Tukwila is as close as it will get to here,, Kelly. I checked the paper for a showing in Tacoma, Puyallup or Olympia,, and theres no showings listed. Thanks for the info,, looks like I'm going north.

Re: Snake & Mongoose Movie
I took my wife and 6 yr old girl to it last night in Avon. They really liked the movie. In the theater there were young and old people and all seemed to enjoy it. While at the snack bar before the movie the girl behind the counter asked/stated we were going to see it. I guess my wife's Watson Racing and my shirt seem to have given it away. We then talked with her about her Grandfather who used to race and about everyone coming to see the movie at the premier.

:) Just got home from seeing the movie. One of the perks of being retired, no crowd at the theater. I agree with Kelly, very good movie. I did notice some very small things wrong, but these DID NOT take away from the overall quality of the movie. Showing more than just the racing put a real human perspective on the movie. The family and business problems and dealing with Jamie's (McEwen's son) leukemia is very well done. Can't wait to own it when available. It is worth seeing, even if it's in only one theater. I have heard the DVD will be out for the holidays. |
Re: Snake & Mongoose Movie
I caught the 3:40 showing today after work,, got the senior discount, and walked into the theater and theres only one dude in there. He looks at me and of course, I tell him, "Aw man, that's the seat I wanted!" He laughs and sadly, that's the only people that saw the afternoon showing. A shame that this movie doesn't get any advertising in the "real world",, just in our little racers' circle. The only radio spots I've heard are 10 second bites on our local sports talk station. I know its not a major motion picture, but I hope the evening and weekend shows do better than 2 viewers per showing.
As for the movie, I thought it was alright,, a decent story line, with plenty of old footage mixed in. I feel the 2 main actors did okay,,, theres a little mixing of chronological events, like going from the Arrow to the Monza and back to the Arrow, depending on the footage used. Some of the "cameos" were amusing,, Capps, DeJoria,, Snake & Goose on the golf cart, and so on. I thought the kid playing Jamie McEwen did a great job. Overall,, I'd say if you get a chance to see it, go for it. Make sure you hang around for the credits as theres some cool pics and video shown to close it out. My 2 cents. Danny Durham |

Its sad that theres such a small distribution scheduled for this movie. If there is a dismal turnout in theaters for this, is it possible they'd pull the plug on DVD and Blu-Ray sales? Just thinking out loud. Danny Durham |
Re: Snake & Mongoose Movie
there was a large article in my local paper about the movie opening in New Brunswick NJ today, thinking about getting tickets online to go tonight, im not sure how crowded it will be, being 10 minutes from Englishtown.

Re: Snake & Mongoose Movie
I saw Snake and Mongoo$e, don't waste your money! the racing was all NHRA stock footage.
Story and acting were OK but overall it's a sad representation of our sport. Down right boring. Heart like a wheel was actually a better movie. I wouldn't even recommend that you rent it! The good news (or sad ) there were only six people in the theater so only six of us were disappointed. :( |
