DRC at Englishtown

Don't want to here any excuses, the coverage by DRC at Englishtown has been terrible.
Coverage of the D2 race already shows final in stock and round 4 in superstock , WTF?

Mack Reeves 09-07-2013 06:33 PM

Re: DRC at Englishtown

Not sure if this is the reason or not but the Div 2 race will be completed today... Don't think that is the case in Div. 1......

Tha DRC coverage has been very timely from Etown. This is a 3 day race, and Bristol was only a Friday/Saturday race. Every round that has been completed at Etown has been posted..... And they are only 45 minutes off schedule at the most.

Re: DRC at Englishtown

Nah, don't buy it,the coverage for D1 events has been sub par all year .
If they is a problem at least post it in the site.
That's not even being gone.

Check the dates...sometimes last year's race gets thrown in there...for whatever reason.

Seen it happen before...this year...on DRC.....

Nothing to buy... It's fact.

Jim does a great job-he had the first round of comp up before I heard from my teammates who were at the race.

Re: DRC at Englishtown

So I JUST checked DRC and there is no superstock rd 1 posted. That means they did not run first round?

Believe me I am not trying to be a wiseass about this I'm just frustrated because it seems to me that DRC is always tardy with D1 events maybe I am wrong but......

Re: DRC at Englishtown

Dan, do yourself a favor and go back to DRC and look at the schedule for today before you completely embarrass yourself.... Coverage looks like it's up to snuff to me... SS first round just ran and by the time you get fuel and scales it just takes some time to get it right... Heaven knows if they report something wrong they will catch hell about that!!!

I cannot report on races that have not yet been run.

We are not even done with the first round of all classes at Englishtown. So, genius, please explain to me how I should be reporting on rounds that are not scheduled to take place until tomorrow.

If you had bothered to look at the schedule I posted this morning, you would know what was on the schedule today.

I'll tell you Dan, it is people like you on here that make me want to just give all of this up and stay home on weekend. I am sorry you are not satisfied with my performance this year. If you'd like, I can introduce you to the guy who runs this and maybe you can do it better next year.

The first round of Super Stock has not yet been run, hence my inability to get it posted as quickly as you would like. It is in the lanes right now and will start as soon Super Comp is done.

Yes, it does show two rounds scheduled. THEY HAVE NOT YET RUN ROUND ONE. They are behind schedule.

So genius, please explain why you would expect me to post results of racing that has yet to occur?

Wow, just wow. I don't know what to say.

I'd have to say the coverage from D1 has been great! Jim posted all the elimination rounds from the last divisional at Cecil. Not just the winners, but the reaction times and ETs of ALL the rounds. Where else do you see that?

http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCStory.asp?ID=275639

I hope you're man enough to apologize to Jim.

Jim, I want to thank you for all you do. It's much appreciated. I was kind of shocked when I saw you posted all the eliminations from Cecil. Awesome job. Wish more reporters did that. :) Keep up the good work.

Toby all I wanted was an explanation as to why the results weren't posted, I got that when I saw the the race got behind schedule.
Why wasn't something to that affect posted ?
All this nonsense and name calling could have been avoided. Do you think his tone with me was warranted?
For my part I do apologize I know you can only work with what you have.
Dan.

Thank You, Mack! My thought's exactly! The reporting from the Division 1 events this year on Drag Race Central has been updated as soon as has been possible. Thank you Jim Samuel and Summit Auto for providing all of us with a great service!

Yes. I'm sure Jim takes great pride in getting timely and accurate reports to us. And then you say his reporting is sub par? He showed way more restraint than I probably would have.

I've been sitting on my fingers about this subject for a while, but enough is enough with all the complaining about DRC! Some of you must have a pay version of it that the rest of us don't have, and thus, feel justified to feel all butt hurt about it when something is not posted to your liking. I, for one, am especially grateful that there is a website that reports on niche interest of mine, that I would otherwise never expect to have, or at the very least, have to pay for/subscribe to. When people do things for free for me, I generally make it a rule not to tell them how much I think they suck.

Jim, as a D1 fan, thank you for all you do, as well as the rest of the staff at Drag Race Central. Keep up the good work. Most of us appreciate it.

Jim let me apologize for the statements that got this whole mess started.
I have golden rule I follow which is to count to 10 before saying or writing something I will regret, we'll as you can see I didn't follow my own golden rule.
I truly am sorry for insulting your work ethic , I realize its one of the worst things someone can hear about something they obviously care a lot about.
Believe me in the future I will think before I type or say something.
Looking forward to your reporting in the future.
Thanks,
Dan Bernay

Re: DRC at Englishtown

I have complained about the same thing in the past, but I would like to give Mr. Samuel a complement tonight. I was looking at DRC and noticed 1st round eliminations for super stock not just round winners in 1st and 2nd rounds which is done at divisionals.

Mr. Samuel, I would like to thank you for being the only divisional DRC reporter who has posted complete round info and not just winners for early rounds in super stock at divisionals.

I think the problem isn't DRC. It's the D1 races are slow because of the number of racers in D1 events.

Sincerely hope that this regretful incident between Dan and Jim is now a thing of the past. Dan's eagerness to know and Jim's challenge and dedication to report is what needs to unite rather than divide you guys.

You can't get mad at a third party site who offers to post the race results at no cost to us. Get mad at the sanctioning body that leaves this job to others. Don't stop Jim your site is all we have, live timing is gone, and the sanctioning body doesn't seem interested in posting anything that doesn't make them a few million rubles.

I was there, this weekend, went some rounds and checked DRC frequently, the site is not slow it is the LODRS, they are great people, but run a very slow program. Please don't give me BS about car count, over the weekend I found myself asking WTF are they waiting for?...

Track prep...this the first time in the last 4 years that this divisional wasn't a spin fest. Thanks to new track manger John Hedenberg . Even with the curfews the final pair went down the track at 3:45 on Sunday. What more could you ask for?

Thanks Jim Samuel and DRC for the quick coverage. By the time I made a run and hooked up the charger the round results were already posted.

Rich67stang 09-08-2013 08:23 PM

Re: DRC at Englishtown

Dave, I agree track prep was awesome, and yes they moved the program well today. Again, it was a fun weekend, congrats to all the winners.

Re: DRC at Englishtown

Always appreciate what DRC does for the racers who can't be at the track. I skipped E-Town this weekend so I can prepare for next weekend. Wish I could drag Jim up to Numidia to post stuff on DRC for my event. We are sooo spoiled with technology now that if we don't get results within 10 minutes we get ticked off and want to go riot. I remember back in the day when we had to pay .75 cents per minute to call 1-800-NHRA NOW to get results on the Nationals and then TNN would post the race on the TV a week after it was over. National Dragster would get divisional stuff in a week after the race in the "Instant Results" so if you were not there or someone you knew wasn't there you had no clue what happened. Anyways Thanks Jim and DRC for all that you do, it is much appreciated!
