Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Don had a .000 light in the first round of the Sportsnationals last week.I think he is worried.

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Don, you have been pretty vocal about people possibly using electronics in SS for a while. If NHRA is finally going to check, why the heck are you giving everyone a heads up that they will be looking for this? This seems counter productive to the cause of catching any cheaters.

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Last week at the TOC, I was .015, .012, .003, -.001, .012, .005, .007, .003, lane to lane, day to night, over three different days. I have in-car video of all but two of the runs. I footbrake, no 2-step. The previous week, other than an errant .030 from the car not leaving right due to a leaking fuel rail, I was no worse than .024 in two different cars at two different tracks over four days. It'd be great if someone could tell me what I'm doing so that I could bottle it.
If someone was cheating, would their lights be better or worse than this? I guarantee you I'd be worse *with* a delay box. Even on a practice tree, I'm just 'average' off the top, and worse, I don't really have a feel for what kind of light I hit. A transbrake and 2-step off the bottom might help a tiny bit, though. That being said, I can't drive the stripe to save my life, and Shaq would destroy me in a free-throw contest. |
Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Michael, if you can figure out what you are doing when it comes to cutting good lights, and bottle it, I'll take 50 cases LOL.

I'll take a bottle as well! |
Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
I'm of the opinion that blinder/bottom bulb reaction (legal) is just as good as top bulb/delay box (illegal). You can miss with both as well.

If Michael talks about himself he is not the only guilty one.

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Anyone is capable of having a good day hitting the tree at any given time. Even the guys who race a lot and win a lot make mistakes and miss it, that's just human error. Stock/Super Stock racing has become way more competitive so you are forced to better yourself. Just about everyone is better than they were ten years ago.

You're right, Tony. Some a little more than others though. What's that old saying? "Reaction time's for show, top end's for dough." |
Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Don't let Beard mess with you. He isn't doing any bragging, He is just setting you up for the next time he runs you. It's called "Head Game" I bet he even keeps records of the red lite rounds he gets.

Looks like Michael had a good weekend, much different than his Sunday 2 weeks ago at Numidia where they paid $5K to win in both Footbrake and Electronics where he was on road before 2nd round.;) I hear NHRA Division 1 bracket racers are tough. :D My 16 year old son raced that day too, his first time in competition in my car and had to get by a current or former track champion every round as well Tom Fletcher before losing at 6 cars with a .-006 to the current Pro ET track champion at Numidia. No easy rounds in this neck of the woods. |
