Buddy Gross
Not many if any of the newer class guys will remember Buddy, but he raced a old cutlass convertible, guessing it hasn't be out in 20 years or so. He was a member of the Lattimore-Dodson-Gross team that raced a lot in division 1 and 2. He passed away Monday Nov 18th, big man with an even bigger heart he will be missed. BTW, when I spoke with him in August he wanted me to let everyone know he still kept up with all you guys and gals as he kept his Dragster and Drag Review's coming. Were losing a lot of good people way to fast.

Re: Buddy Gross
Very sorry to hear this.
I remember Buddy very well he was a all around good guy,we raced each other for the G/SA class wally at the 1975 Summer Nationals ,he won and then got bounced for a Cam that was to big . He offered to hang out and help take my car apart. Seen him a few times after that always had a smile and we would joke about the cam. May he R.I.P. |
Re: Buddy Gross
Buddy was a great person, I knew him as a little kid running around the pits of many tracks as him and my stepdad where friends racing in stock and superstock up and down the east coast and at Jene Calhoun speed shop . Rest in peace.

Re: Buddy Gross
I'm sorry to hear this. I knew him from the early days of stock racing and used to visit him almost every Sat. at his speed shop. He was a great guy and fun to hang out with. May he rest in peace. Like Danny said.....a true friend.

Re: Buddy Gross
Rest in peace and my condolences to his family and friends. I can remember talking with him at Suffolk Raceway and enjoyed his great love of all type of automobile. I also remember the article on the three Amigos in Super Stock Magazine January 1980 A Triple Play, from Dobson to Lattimore to Gross. Claude Ruel

I have that issue of SS&DI also. My condolences to his family. I know he is at the Olds dealership up there, getting ready to race.

Re: Buddy Gross
I worked for Buddy at the speed shop back in the 80's. What an awesome job for a 16-18 year old kid. We built the engine for my 65 GTO right there in the shop with the help of Dan Lattimore and others! What an experience!! I have a 72 Olds Cutlass convertible now because I liked the way they looked and it's what my idol raced in stock eliminator! R.I.P. Buddy!
